Water in s14 door.

Got a problem I think...

Have had door panels off for a couple weeks for speaker install in 97 s14. Noticed water would accumulate on the inner pinch seam for both driver and passenger. No puddles or anything crazy. Since door panels are off I can see the water eventually makes its way past the rubber exterior window glass. Doesn't happen immediately when raining takes a little time.

I searched and didn't really come up with people having this issue. Door has factory holes in the bottom to let out trapped water. Is this something that just happens normally or should my inner door be bone dry all the time?

Bought the car couple months ago so don't know how long its been going on but inner door has no signs of rust.

Thanks

Use something stiff like metal wire and push it through the factory holes to make sure they aren't clogged.

Hey guys thanks for the reply. I think your misunderstanding what I'm saying. The holes at the bottom of the door are clear and let water out like they should.

My questions were in regards to the water getting in there in the first place. Is the inner door supposed to be bone dry or does water normally get past the rubber seal that presses against the glass and get let out by the holes at the bottom?

Nothing to fret dude. Water gets in, water goes out through the holes. So long as you can't put gold fish in there and expect them to live, your door will be fine.
