Project Gay Thunder/Sloth Machine
First off, I've been saving all this for about a year, since it's all a very slow process and I've lost about 90%of my pictures because of my shit luck with phones.
This build sucks and it's nothing special and I'm a *SNIP* The project has been called gay thunder for the last year, and I don't know why. The name "Sloth machine" is fitting since it's a slow build, for a slow car. So I'm sticking with Sloth Machine. Down to brass tacks. I fell into my first s13, the red hatch in some of the pictures, about 6 years ago. Blown transmission from the first owner who brought it into my dads shop. Here's the kicker, it had almost 800k miles on the damn thing. Long story short there, guy couldn't pay for the work, and I ended up with the car. I was fully stoked. After dailying a 1998 civic for about 2 years while working on the thing, I got my baby (named Asuka, after Asuka Langley Soryu. Because they're both red bitches.) That thing is an entire other build thread/clusterfuck. Fast forward April last year when I decided I wanted another project when lucky me, 2 days later an 89 original two-tone coupe shell shows up on craigslist. Went and got the car the next day, in a tornado. Funny enough, one of my friends that went to get the car with me(2 hours away) was dumped by his girlfriend who was telling him not to go, but he insisted the car was more important. I knew all along it was just going to be a simple weekend drift build. Sr swap, Silvia front, the basics along with that. Got a 180 half cut from a local importer, swapped etc. Everyone's seen a fucking Sr swap so I'll spare that shit Got the swap running, 200 miles later got rodknock. Fuck.jpg I swear something interesting is going to happen eventually. New engine, in and running, current status around August last year: First wash: Few months later, tired of the hardly existent clear coat, I thought I should plastidip the car: I was fucking wrong, it was a terrible idea. Not thinking at all, I wanted to dark green and black so everyone instantly assumed I was going for some military thing. Made worse by the bombs on the front of the car with F's in them (f-bombs. I'm not funny.) Needless to say I peeled that fucker and started doing suspension mods etc. Arms kits, Gab coilovers, j30 diff, 5 lug swap and fully stripped interior, we sat here: Powersteering cooler out the pignose front, because fuck it I want a Silvia front anyway. I was peeling the car in sections since it took for-fucking-ever. Through the life of the car I'd had bad luck with alternators for some reason, total kill count is at 6 alternators to date. But, February of this year on the way to Import Alliance DFW I had the most interesting alternator event. THE PULLEY FLEW THE FUCK OFF ON THE HIGHWAY! Flew over the center divider and hit another car lol. But seriously, shit was fucked and I was stuck in a church parking lot for 5 fucking hours. Finally got a tow home, I believe this was the 4th or 5th time I'd had to get a tow for failed alternators: Now around this time I was getting tired of the messy boring bay. So,shit went down: Thought the teal would go well with the silver and decided to do some other stuff in there too as well as engine and body harness tucks which were a fucking misery: Almost back together there. Tried to clean up everything I could. Fast forward a little bit into March when I finally got a Silvia front.: Just about the ugliest fucking thing to ever roll down the road. The primer wasn't going to do at all.: Not much better, but it's holding me over and keeping me from losing my shit so much. Minor mods here and there, few good pictures taken later on. Not cellphone pictures for once... Now here's where I think it starts to get fun I guess. Picked up another Sr motor set (which is at the machine shop now) and a whole mess of fun new parts and shit. Mod list: Drift motion intercooler Blitz Nur-spec exhaust Blitz SS BOV Isis thermostat 255/lph fuel pump freddy intake J-star exhaust manifold Full arms set Fortune Super down low coilovers j30 diff 5 lug swap Klutch Republik Sl1 wheels, 16x9 +17 all around Complete OEM Silvia front with aero bumper Origin roof wing 50/50 tails clear corner lights OMP 3 point passenger harness Takata 6 point drivers side works bell hub NRG 2.8 quick release Nismo steering wheel glowshift gauges (oil temp, oil pressure, water temp, 2 boost) Greddy full auto timer Tomei RAS Other less important shit I'm sure. Any ways, wrapping this shit up so far. I bought a car, haven't done anything cool, drifting bores the fuck out of me for the most part now, I wanna go fast Ricky Bobby style so now I want a pretty high way car. How the car sits now. Plans soon includes bricks, clear lenses for bricks, Silvia skirts and valences then sending it off to paint, hopefully by the end of the year. This other Sr I picked up is where the real nature of "sloth machine" shines through. Because I'm a broke motherfucking college student it's probably going to take me like 6 fucking years. I've named the newer Sr "Squidley-bum" and I don't know why. Broad plans for Squidley-bum: Mazworks 2.5 stroker kit VVL head conversion twin scroll manifold Precision 6262 280 lift 12.50 duration cams 1200cc or dual 850cc injector set That's all VERY subject to change, but I would like to make 650-700 with the Sr, because I know better but I'm still fucking dumb and apparently don't like money. More updates and the like are to come, now that interesting shit is happening.

I think I should be in the running for worst clusterfuck of a build.
Update so far. Somehow both my axles and rear hubs went out, so they've been replaced. Got F1 style mirrors, not sure how I like 'Em just yet. Picking up oem valances, bricks, and clear lenses Sunday. Ordering Dorkidori V1 skirts Monday. Once the headlights get replaced I'm going to wash the filthy fucking king car since it's been sitting gathering shit and dust all over it like a Saigon where. Once the Damn thing is clean and final rear fitment is set up I'm gonna post a whole Fuck ton of pictures. Also, I will NEVER paint it anything but the oem two tone. Hopefully the car will go to paint late September/early October. Instagram: asuka_yui. Lots of in between shots and 3d printers posted there, but Fuck it someone may get be bored.

The plastidip was just black on the bottom and the dark green up top. It got old really quick.

Bricks, clear lenses, and replica valences from a not very well know but AMAZING replicator. The dudes stuff is on point, fitment is top notch, and his shirts and stuff even come with clips unlike most replicas. He even makes the center piece for the valences and the uber rare aero bumper lip. Going to order the lip and center section soon. Unfortunately I'm retarded and grabbed the wrong cable for my phone this morning before I came to school so I'll post pictures tonight and something.

This is why I stated I was a *SNIP*, before I proved that fact.
Anyway, front of the car with F1 mirrors and bricks on, can't see shit with them. Leveled out the hood a few hours later, had to get new hood bumper things from Nissan on my way back from school. F1 mirrors, Klutch Republik Sl1 wheels, and Project Mu lugnuts. Current rear fitment, needs to go a little bit lower for maximum old school feel.

Well, guess I won't shit talk myself so hardcore. Glad that' over though.
Updates? Sparco put in, brand new sliders and bracket, tired looking Takatas looking tired. Got some DorkiDori V1 skirts Headlight panels Replaced my tired ass Nismo wheel with a new Grip royal purchased at FDTX. I have a ladyboner for woodgrain. Friend of mine made me a woodgrain vinyl "slothmachine" sticker. Paint prep is just about done. Hopefully I can find someone that willpaint it locally,I'd like to have it done by the end of October/ early November. Litle things for the Squiddley bum engine are starting to come in. Seals, Valve cover studs, thermostat, etc. I'm going to order all the hardware Monday to replace ever factory bolt on the engine with brand new grade 14.5 stainless hardware.
