every plug on the harness is pluged in and grounded. i have a s14 and im starting to wonder if the harness is missing plugs. by looking at the pictures of the black kouki i already see a plug that i dont have on the top of the fuse box that gray one. also i think he has the other 2 under that pluged in aswell.
i dont have none of them plugs on my harness. if someone can please post some better shots of that fuse box so i can see the 3 plugs that runs along the side of it. also some shots of the ignitor and the plugs there please. i have the same car as that black kouki if you can post some pictures of what i need please being u got the same car as me it should be the same setup as far as the harness goes. thanks |

This is some serious business right here guys haha and I plan on jumping on the bandwagon. In Mississippi they don't have to much of this going on so I don't have much help like I did when I was in Houston. So here is the list I have so far. Please tell me if I need anything, I just want to swap a 2JZGTE in my S13 so I can use it as a bad arse daily driver LOL.
2JZGTE MOTOR (ZEROLIFT) $2,500.00 R154 TRANSMISSION (QUALITY USED TRANS) $1,000.00 MOTOR/TRANSMISSION MOUNTS (EBAY) $160.00 ALUMINUM DRIVESHAFT (SHAFT MASTERS) $378.00 GODSPEED RADIATOR (EBAY) $190.00 MISHIMOTO G LINE INTERCOOLER (AMAZON) $168.00 EXTENDED SHIFTER KIT WHERE DO I GET THIS AT? $300.00 FRONT MAIN SEAL (DRIFT MOTION) $12.85 REAR MAIN SEAL (DRIFT MOTION) $32.00 IGNITER (DRIFT MOTION) $150.00 OIL PUMP (DRIFT MOTION) $185.00 SERPENTINE BELT TENSIONER (DRIFT MOTION) $132.00 SERPENTINE BELT (DRIFT MOTION) $25 THERMOSTAT (DRIFT MOTION) $21.00 TIMING BELT (DRIFT MOTION) $32.00 COMPLETE GASKET SET (DRIFT MOTION) $439.00 1JZ FLYWHEEL (DRIFT MOTION) $275.00 STAGE 2 CLUTCH KIT (DRIFT MOTION) $425.00 TOYOTA OIL FILTER (DRIFT MOTION) $6.00 WALBRO FUEL PUMP (DRIFT MOTION) $115 FULL LENGTH CLUTCH HOSE (DRIFT MOTION) [USE WITH S14 OEM MASTER SLAVE CYLINDER] $45.00 ENGINE/TRANSMISSION HARNESS WIRING (FREEDENGINEERING) $500.00 Questions: - So I need a flywheel for a 1jz and a clutch kit for a 1jz OR 2jz? - Are the clutch lines and fuel lines confusing? I have been researching this the past week and still have questions so please bear with me. If you found anything in my list to not be MANDATORY AND 100% NEEDED to keep my engine reliable then please tell me or if you know of a cheaper product that will put out just as much I'm always open for cheaper alternatives LOL |

You gotta remember the 2jzgte was offered in the states as the turbo mkiv supra so parts can be had from your local parts store as well. The timing belt, best bang for the buck, is the gates racing timing belt. mine was a whopping $35 shipped

Add getting a daily driver into that build as well....If u dont have all the brakes and suspension add another 3-5k
to do this right its not a cheap build and I havent seen anyone do a GTE swap under 10k....People have spoken about it but no one has come out and said they have done it.... |

There have been a few questions regarding the radiator and core support:
We (Specifically, "Larry" at Team orange inc, previously known as Drag International) have done about twenty of these swaps to date; none overheat, none have problems. Its a "cookie cutter" deal these days, we cut a good 1.5" out of the core support and relocate the condenser, sometimes using a condenser from another vehicle (a civic condenser fits well!) and that gives plenty of room for slim-line flex-a-lite fans, which are always individually wired via twin relays capable of supporting the constant current demands. Yes we maintain the A/C! Take your time and cut carefully, straight and clean, make a nice bracket and aluminum cover, it will be functional and pretty. Heres another one: Last edited by Kingtal0n; 05-14-2012 at 06:24 PM.. |

Thank you sir for that information. I had seen some of your older cars but had not seen anyone from Drag Int. post recently. I have that exact same setup for the radiator and fans....glad I made the right choice.

Your motor set should come with ignitor/electronics and what not already.
I'd say stay away from a knock off rad, as people tend to have cooling problems with lower quality radiators. Also you'll need a front sump oil pan setup, and sway bar spacers, and if you get a jdm engine (like an aristo 2jz) you'll need to swap the stock hydrofan water pump setup for a mechanical water pump (such as the na supra mkiv pump). And as others have stated get belts/other oem parts from the Toyota dealer to save yourself some money. Clutch line go to oreilly's and have them make you one after you take measurements. If you're not going to run ac you'll need to get an audi serp belt (a4, iirc). You dont really need to get a full gasket set, just get the usual (cam/crank seals, front/rear mains, and valve cover gaskets) |

U can buy either a trd thermostat (160*) or a mishimoto 140*. What radiator/fan combo are u using? In the heat today and in traffic mine never got above 180. My setup is koyo tad, generic 12" fan and trd thermostat.

Squeezed another 25hp out of it today on 28psi/c16. Time to go to a bigger turbo lol.
Sorry about the sweet quality. Apparently I suck at recording on an Iphone. 2jz 240sx dyno - YouTube

If you get a Engine set for $2500 im pretty sure you'll get a Ignitor, & if you get a Gasket set you'll get all the main seals btw When it comes down to PS, Clutch & Fuel Line just get them from Chase Bay they make them for S13 to 1JZ/2JZ with no hassle on your part or can make your own with Earls, XRP or other aftermarket AN Hose & Fittings & I recommend getting a OEM MK4 TT Fuel Pump, best bang for the buck! With the flywheel/clutch situation just make sure you get a R154 Flywheel & any 7M-GTE/1JZ-GTE/2JZ-GTE to R154 will work you can go with 7M clutch kits to save money because most 1JZ/2JZ R154 are Expensive

Hey I have a couple of questions that I could not find the answers to. So why not ask in a thread where people have actually done the swap, to add to the great information already here.
This is all regarding s14 chasis with Aristo 2JZ 1. Anyone have any experience using these ebay mount brackets? 240SX S13 S14 SWAP ENGINE MOTOR MOUNTS BRACKETS 1JZ 2JZ | eBay 2. When fitting the r154 does it fit properly in the transmission tunnel? 3. If ever doing a clutch job in the future would there be enough space to drop the transmission alone? 3. If anyone has experience with the above mount brackets, and has a soarer r154 does the shifter line up proper? 4. Is it possible to get the r154 to feel as short and as precise as the sr/ka with short shifters? All my friends cars with this transmission has some sort of shifter play. That is all the questions I have, if anyone could answer them I would appreciate it very much. |

1. I have a "Tech 2" kit so idk about that? 2. Yes, should fit properly 3 That idk, i rather just pull the whole engine out as one much easier 4. Yes with a Soarer R154 you shouldnt have no problems with any mount kit, its the Supra R154 you need to worry about Extending 5. & yes buy Marlin Crawler Shifter sockets & you will have a nice new shifter feel , with no play

Thank you very much jdm2191. So if I am to understand correctly our cars don't need transmission tunnel bashing to fit an r154?
Still would like if someone can comment on the mount brackets if they have experience with using them Edit: Also I am told that the Marlin Crawler Shifter sockets do not work for the soarer transmission setup. Is this true? |
