Metal in oil pan (Identify)

Hello,

I recently picked up a 1991 240sx hatch with an S13 SR20DET swap. Going through it all in preparation for drift events. I am new-ish to the S-Chassis world, but not new at all to cars or working on them. Mainly Hondas (Si, and S2000), Mustangs, Hyundai Genesis 3.8 Coupe, and my current daily an FR-S.

The list of items being done to the 240 is extensive, but for now I have one question that I was hoping you all could help me identify/explain. The car drove fine during test drive and for a few days when I got it home (hauled it 8 hours from picking it up). Decided it was time to get her up in the air and start modding/maintenance. Doing the turbo oil and coolant lines so i drain the oil. Well, surprise!!! The magnetic drain plug had a few pieces picked up. See the pictures please, and help identify.

Round peice looks like a cam shim, other peices not sure. Looks like they have a machined edge. Ring land maybe? Unsure

Thank you guys.

I did in fact confirm that the small round piece is a rocker arm shim. Upon inspection there are none missing. So my thought at this point is that it was a repaired failure from the previous owner, and the shim made it's way to the oil pan for me to discover.

The metal on the rocker arm does resemble the make-up of the pieces found, so I will inspect those for damage.

my guess is limiter bashing a rocker jumped the lifter then got jammed into the camlobe and broke into bits, 2 possibles are the camlobe may have suffered damage and the rockers are shimmed to the cam , the shim you found you may need as they can work ok if any old shim and rocker are thrown in there,
but really they should be sized to each rocker/camlobe so the rocker pad is flat to the camlobe, if the replacement rocker and shims are out of spec it could spit it out again
and worse case the camshaft locks breaks the cam chain and bends valves
well worth running through all the clearances to prevent the above happening
