S12 KA24DE swap driveshaft help

Hey guys, I have an 86' 200sx se that I bought with a seized ca18et. I'm swapping a ka into it, and everything is pretty damn straight forward with the help of the write-ups over at s12club. But I've come into a little problem with the driveshaft.

Most people use the front half of the ka ds and the rear half of the ca's, virtually the same shafts. I bought what I was told is a 92' ka24de and manual tranny. It didn't come with a driveshaft as the guy i bought the engine from used it on his sr swap. So I drove down to San Antonio last weekend to pick up what I was told was a ka24de mt driveshaft.

After fighting with it for a good 10 minutes it wouldn't go in. I look at the splines and they are quite different. The driveshaft I picked up has two keys (two teeth missing) 180* from each other and the output shaft on the tranny doesn't have a key, it's complete splines all the way around the shaft. I tried searching everywhere but I couldn't seem to find any thing on the spline counts and layouts on the different driveshafts. I'll post up pictures this evening when I get home from work. I just don't want to keep sourcing driveshafts and them not be correct. Anyone have any clue what the spline design on the output shaft of a s13 ka24de mt tranny is? s14 mt? or the driveshafts? Is the SOHC tranny's output shaft different from the DOHC tranny's?
Thanks a lot everyone!

this is the inside of the ds I picked up in San Antonio. Looks exactly like my CA's old driveshaft. Could this be from a SOHC? ohh and it was perfectly clean when I was trying to install it. It got thrown in the dirt once i realized it was worthless lolz

I'll get pics of the tranny tonight, gotta get the car back on stands.

The splines on S13/S14 MT transmissions are the same, you can use them vice versa
Only diff would be is if you have a AT DS

Still no clue but the situation is still as described above. Here's some more pics. Thanks for the help guys.

Has anyone seen that output shaft on a KA tranny before? It's definitely a 5spd and it's bolted to a s13 kade. PO said he used the driveshaft it was bolted to on his SR swap with no problems.
The driveshaft isn't in question really as now have 2 different s13 DS'. I picked up one like the second one in the above pic yesterday and am going to give it a stab tonight. TIA
