ok small update i put the tranny back together now some pics
cleaned the back of the bellhousing for the RTV to have a smooth surface to adhere to got a piece of 2x4 so i could stand the tranny up for easy bellhousing alignment got it all lined up and bolted on now installing the snap ring on the main bearing i temporarily put the cover back on but i need to head to nissan on monday and get a new front cover seal, mine looks ok but Nissan recommends not to reuse them and i will not risk it for a $4 seal. now this i did not realize there was a little ball under this spring and it had fallen out do not lose this! here she is all put back together thats it for today i have parts coming in on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday so ill update when they come in |

Do you mind telling how much all of parts cost you? Also how much is everybody paying for the tranny? Im looking into this but I dont know how much they are worth, or where to even look for them. I was thinking the dealer but they'll probably try to sell it for 4k? |

I busted this swap about 3 months ago. Third gear is great havent changed ratio yet however she is down as we speak due to clutch engagement issue. Was very different type of issue basically clutch was released instant disengagement of power to real wheels no matter what gear and hard pedal no noise! After disassembly I have found nothing wrong with any of the drivetrain components. transmission shifts fine into every gear and spinning the input shaft spins the tailshaft as well in every gear. Clutch looks fine only thing I can think of is that as I was unbolting the pressure plate if was stuck was able to be placed into engaged position as was unbolted unevenly when being removed from flywheel. Transmission was sent to shop Friday for syncros and bearings "cd008 trans bought off of craigslist didnt do my homework when I started this one thing im going to be looking into when I get back is the throwout bearing travel distance. When I started this I had read about a girl in New Zealand that was doing this to a s15 with the same adapter plate and she was having issues with the size of the throwout bearing being too short and not touching the pressure plate but the post was never finished. You may wanna look into this too. Im using the s14 throwout and fork btw the z33 stuff will not work found out from personal experience. Kudos for taking good picts and time to document this! Would have loved to see this round the first of the year lol.

Ya I had to learn the hard way lol but I still dont think the sr throwout bearing is long enough when I get the tranny back im going to pay close attention to see I f the bearing is on the pressure plate and if not come up with some sort space to attach to bearing

hey my Shaft Masters drive shaft came in today and man does it look good, they use Spicer joints.
here is a pic of my testing to see if the yolk fits properly and it does! also my Dakota Digital speed calibration unit, im going to use this box to get the ABS signal from my j30 diff to make my speedometer to work with the z33 tranny. i already had the Spec flywheel but i wasnt sure if i needed a new friction plate or not so i just ordered one it was $80 i would be kicking myself if i needed it and not ordered it but other then that im still waiting on more parts and i will try to pull my SR out of my s14 this weekend |

Cool to see a full write up on this.

Very cool to see a write up! I've seen that guys are using the Dakota Digital box but I haven't seen a write up on that particular aspect of the build. Hope to see more soon!
