Installing kouki tails
Hey,
i've tried searching but couldn't find a good answer anyways, i'm thinking about buying a set of 180sx kouki tails for the s13 now it comes with the 2 tails and center piece. but not the lower piece under the tails. now im wondering is it absolutely necessary to have the lower piece? or will the stock one work? let me know! thanks in advance |

that depends.
do you want it to look like shit? then yeah it will work. (might need to cut a bit) if you want it to look nice then you need it. the way i see things: if its different, its for a reason. kouki lights have more of a rounded slope down to the bottom of the lights form the center garnish. zenki/chuki lights is a straight diagonal line. look at some pics. |

Just wondering if anyone has some pics with them installed using the stock bottom piece.
i'm getting a good price compared to what i've been seeing online for the tails, so i'm just wondering if they're worth my time |

No, you do not need to "cut a bit" at all. No, it doesn't line up 100%, but it still works. Here's how "shitty" it looks. Honestly, if you're not too picky, it's not that big of a deal. |

Just make sure you have the non-sunroof model S13. If your S13 has a sunroof then your taillights won't fit.

The lower metal garnish is thinner on the Zenki-Chuki lights

180sx panels stick out further, sit flush with the center garnish, and line up perfectly. |

i didn't know that there was a difference between the non-kouki panels on the 180SX and the 240SX. Why did they even bother to make such a small change with the thickness? they should have just left it alone. |
