I finally received my momo wheel in the mail today, and like a school kid with a new toy, I was anxious to try it out!

The install (with HKB Hub) was straightforward enough, including the horn button. But, after all was on and Tight, I took the car out to see how it felt. The first thing I noticed was how stiff and heavy the steering wheel felt, I could barely turn out of my parking space! Then when I got out, I noticed that I had to manually wind it back to straight-forward position! It wouldn't wind back by itslef!

So figuring it'd be better when I got up to speed, I turned out of my parking structure, to find that even at speed, I had to use excessive force to turn the wheel back straight.
I have no idea why it's suddenly so ridiculously hard to steer. The wheel is a Momo 310 (300?) mm wheel (small, I know) but even then, I don't see why the wheel shouldn't return to the 12 o'clock position.

Sounds like there's something binding somewhere.  dead power steering would lighten up at speed and still easily return to center.

and smaller steering wheel would make it heavier
and so would a dead power steering
however it should come back after a turn....
so i am guessing u did something wrong.. maybe over tighten something when u did the steering wheel
if it isnt too much of a bitch then put your OEM one back on

The first thing that came to mind was that I had lost Power steering... but that didn't really explain the steeringwheel returning to 12 o'clock position so slowly and tediously.

I didn't really describe my problem too well last night, I posted just before bed.
It's not that the wheel doesn't turn back to 12 o'clock position, rather it doesn't turn back nearly as fast. When I let go of the steering wheel when it's at full lock (and i'm moving) I will still move in an arc for a long time before it straightens completely back to 12.  

What might I have done wrong? I take it I couldn't have over-tightened the center nut, could I have?

Also, is there any way to wire things up so that the blinker return tabs work? (i.e. blinkers turn off when I turn back after a turn.)

sorry to bring a thread back from the dead, but i'm having the same issues with my wheel... is there any way to correct this? also, my horn button doesn't fit in my wheel because i think i'm missing a piece that was supposed to come with the hub, which attaches to the back of the wheel in order for the button to fit correctly... right?

Is the HKB hub the recommended hub that Momo suggests using with the steering wheel? How's the clearance between the back of the hub & the steering column & cover? How did you thread the horn hot wire/ground wire thru the hub? Sounds like maybe one of the horn wires rolled around the steering column where it bolts up to the hub causing it to bind somehow. If you've got a digital camera take a picture & post it....we might be able to spot the problem...
