S13 Smog
Thinking of possibly picking up a hatch with a black top this week. Looking for a test only shop round sf east bay that can get it done in exchange for coins. Pm me. Or reach me @ c.alphacygni at gmail. Thx.

True that... No one on here is gonna pm the name and location of their hookup to a stranger. If you have no way of getting it reg'd with that motor ur better off getting a KA powered 240. Otherwise ur just shooting urself in the foot

I totally understand.
The seller has actually already smogged the car. I was really testing how difficult it is to get hooked up, as a factor in deciding to buy it or not. |

Seller has smogged it? Well you have 2 years to worry about it. Besides why not just ask the dude it buying it from for his guys info, if it's a deal breaker he might give it to you... Either way it's not easy to do, it's a shit ton of fines and loosing of licenses if the smog tech gets caught plus Ive heard here and there that in some states cheating emissions will get you thrown on some sort of list with a label

Yea I will actually have less than 1 year since the tags will expire march 2013, and I don't want to think of trusting a private seller with my money being his main objective.
Think I will stick with look for a more stock car and work from there. |

Good plan... Just get a clean ass stock-ish 240 and build it up, it's more fun and less stressful. Plus there are plenty of other options for power in a 240 other than an SR as I'm sure you are aware of, some legal and some illegal and some in my personal favorite "grey" area lol

The VQ is what I would go for when I have all the material and human resources actually. But the 240 is the true home for a SR and everyone(parts manufactures) worthships it.
Too bad there's no way to have it legally in the car on the street. |

Yup, all about networking. Go to local shops and ask about getting it done but don't act all nervous and suspicious..
