GT3076R for RB25DET

Can Anyone tell me where I can get the Garret GT3076R with the correct 6 bolt flange for the RB25DET exhoust elbow. Looking for the .83 A/R Model ball bearing or twin scroll.

Its supposed to be a plug and play install for a low mount 450whp capable turbo on the R33 Skyline but I cant find one or a part number for one anywhere. All I seem to be finding is v flanged or 5 bolt jobbies. Sry been on the Australian sites a lot lately. LOL Getting RB25 Fever. Shits worse then the Nismo itch.

Thanks,

Better off with a 35r and top mount on the motor.

im not aware of any turbine housings or garrett turbos for that matter that bolt on to the rb25. I only know of some hks turbos that are plug and play. And then of course there's the high flow turbos. But then again, Im no expert in that matter...

I would rather be just short of 500whp with better response then over with a little lag.

Also top mount is out of the question as is an aftermarket exhaust manifold. I'm looking for an OE style install. The restrictions Iv put on the build limit my inter-cooler size and the turbo placement.

Over on the Australian websites I saw a part number for what I'm looking for but I cant find it again. I was hoping someone here would help.

That's the thing though. A 76R turbo is a bit laggy to begin with. If you get the "smaller" 35R you wouldn't necessarily be any laggier and will have room to grow in the future.

From my research the gt35r is larger and lagier (sp?). its a 3582 versus a 3076. I'm not 100% positive but I believe the 3076 is a hybrid turbo combined from a smaller compressor and a larger turbine in the exhaust housing. Its actually rated at 525 but with the nissan rb 6 bolt exhaust housing its limited by the outflow on exhaust side to somewhere around 460whp. Atleast that's the highest I have seen so far. Full spool around 3500rpm and this turbo makes a special racket that must be heard.

You could go with the 3071 and a .63ar you would end up with a very quick spool but the turbo cuts out before 450whp and it almost makes the car to snappy for street driving. The boost comes on hard and makes traction on dirty streets difficult. Full spool around 3000rpm.

The gt35r has a little more lag and a lot more potential with full spool around 3800rpm.

If my research is correct.....

I was referring to the Gt3576r. Not the Gt3582r. The 3076r is a good turbo, it's just not that balanced and you sacrifice spool because of it. Of course you would still need to stick with the .63/.64 A/R hot side.

Regardless, none of this matters because you're looking for an OE install. Is the 25 exhaust manifold a T2 inlet?

The Hks 2530/40/45 is a really good turbo upgrade for the Rb's. Just my insight.
Ive spent lots of time looking for a good bolt on upgrade but honestly the closest thing is a Z32 turbo and thats not even much of an upgrade... Some companies sell really nice fairly complete kits for Gt35 top mounts if youre really wanting a decent size turbo. Top mount clearance might be sketchy if its in an S chassis, particularily an S14.

Call up ATP, Full-Race, Mike Turbo or who wherever your going to buy from and they could help you out. I can't remember what I came up with but I found it easier to roll with HKS .From Experience HKS was the cheapest bolt on I found, granted I'm sure Garrett makes an equivalent. HKSr2535 would be the smallest Id go with and I've owned. It retains the low end drivability and increases the mid top end significantly. If I could do it all over again the 2835 would be my choice and are direct bolt-on.

Thanks,

I have the gt3076r with the 6 bolt exhaust housing and syko elbow on my RB25 kouki, very nice it is! Back in 2012 it Made 408hp to the wheels at 17psi stock motor with cometic head gasket and tomei poncams, power fc for management. Could of ran more boost and made more power but it was good for me. Car has been sitting for a few years..can't pass emissions (my car is a 97) Currently installing a KA now. When the RB goes back in I'll be using the same turbo but going top mount and will be using a v-band exhaust housing on the turbo, so I have the 6 bolt RB housing available.

Glad to see there is a lot of interest here. Honestly there is only a few turbos I found that fit my needs. I wanted the biggest turbo that fit on the stock system with little to no lag.

My options that I found were.
Garret GT3071R Rated to about 400whp
Garret GT3076R- rated to 525hp @ fly wheel many folks see 450+WHP
HKS 2835 Pro S- Rated to 400+hp at the flywheel
HKS 2835Kai- Rated to 417BHP
Rebuilt OEM R33 Turbo to support 450WHP Max

There were cons with each turbo
GT3071R Power came on too strong and made the cars hard to drive and this turbo didnt support the car to the horsepower numbers I was looking for or up in the higher rev range.
GT3076R Slightly laggy turbo but the power comes on strong and its high enough in the rev range to be usable. Most folks that start with the 3071R move up this turbo in the end and are much happier with it. Especially those not building a drift car.

One last deciding factor was that both the garrets make good power on relatively low boost say 20-22psi to reach close to their peak performance levels. The HKS turbos and the OEM rebuilds have to be pushed with more PSI which is harder on motors with stock internals like mine.

All of these turbos fit the T3 Flange and all of them have the 6 bolt exhaust elbow flange so they can be considered true bolt on upgrades. All of them were capable of 400+hp.

The reason I went with the 3076R is because out of all these turbos it sounded the best under boost and it had the biggest hp potential. The lag was a factor but after reading a bunch from the Australian sites they seem to think the lag and hp is perfectly matched to a nearly stock rb25. Although they prefer the 5 bolt garret housing or a v band housing for the dump tube for better flow. The 6 bolt housing on the dump tube is a T2/T25 Nissan hybrid that causes a lot of back pressure on the exhoust side and limits the turbos potential.

The setup I am looking for is basically the same setup mentioned above. GT3076R with 6 bolt dump tube housing and Syko mount kit with syko elbow to mount up to a silvia down pipe out to a custom 3" exhaust.

This should clear the steering shaft and keeps use of the factory mounting location for the turbo which helps keep the car understated.

If anyone can get me some part numbers for the 6 bolt housing I would appreciate it.

Thanks!!!

Why not get the V-band out and have a custom downpipe fabricated for it? That would be the simplest solution. This way you get what you need and you have a much easier time removing and installing in the future.

The gt3076 is a great turbo for the rb25. Figure 420whp-450whp around 20 psi all day. But I personally didn't like it at all when it was off-boost. On boost it screams tho. And for the spool, you could have something making much more power with similar spool.

If you were browsing aussie sites you must've come across Hypergear turbo's. They offer custom setups for rb25 and some are even bolt on replacement for factory turbo.

this is one variant:
http://www.hypergearturbos.com/index...&product_id=57
be sure to check out the "Dyno results" tab on the page.
Remember, these are internally gated bolt on addition to the rb25, if you decide to go external = more whp!

And for hose who like to see results: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wy4cuVUln8U

Just some food for thought on your decision. Good luck!

I did notice hyper gear but was only considering their oem rebuild as I have no knowledge of their credibility. HKS and Garret need no warranty card. lol

Also I want a good turbo for street and track days. I dont want a drifting setup most drift turbos are chosen because they can produce power from down low to the top of the rpm range. This broad power band and early hard hitting power makes it easy to spin the tires but it also makes for a very crap street car that will easily brake tires loose. Spinning aint winning. I want a good usable setup.

The nice thing about the 3076r is that when you shift your still in boost and its usable street able power. My goal although strange around here is not to blow the tires off. Ill still drift but its not built as a drift car. Ill just have to work harder to stay in the power band. Once you get used to it its not that big a deal.

Hypergear seems cheap going in, but by the time you get what you want your paying for a new Garrett. Keep in mind also the Aussies keep stock appearances due to their laws. With the RB25 I would think driveability over max output. I made 350ish using an HKS 2535 @1.2 to the wheels IIRC and it drove like a dream. The goal was 1.5bar but the clutch was like hellz nah. That car could roll with low 400ps GT-R all day. So response response response.

I hear you about response and I think that 3076r will have plenty of response for my needs. I don't want a scrappy car I want a big dog. those smaller turbos are definitely scrappy like a scalded cat but the larger turbo is out running you even if just barely while being a much easier car to drive.

A broad powerband IS what makes a street car fun IMO. Spinning the tires comes with having 400whp+ car. Learning throttle control is how you manage wheelspin OR you could get an ecu/boost controller that has boost by gear.

Having said that, 3076's are widely used street/drift rb25 setups. so don't think that it won't break your tires loose when it comes on boost. 3076 is a excellent street/drag/drift turbo on stockish rb25.

You can't choose a turbo based on how it will spin your tires. That is just not scientific at all. But by the sounds of it your dead set on the 3076 and it's a very popular choice. Maybe it's the sound it makes that got you hooked.

Good luck!

Your not understanding me. I assure you I will be using plenty of pedal modulation and control as you called it. Those smaller turbos are scrappy putting too much power in early forcing the driver to manipulate the throttle more and to a better degree then a turbo with usable streetable power band.

As you said the 3076 is a widely used and proven turbo fro an RB25 both on the street and the track. And for me it fits my needs and desires very well.

GTX3576R or bust. Same spool as 3076, 600+hp potential.

Or 7064 or 7670 EFR. Internal gates that actually flow properly, smaller compressor covers, and probably faster spool. Definitely with the 7064.

Id need to find them in a bolt on low mount to be able to consider them for my build. The 35R I think might be too big to fit even if you could get the right exhaust housing which if you did I dont think it would flow enough to utilize the 600hp potential.

The 3576 is a 3076 compressor wheel with a 35R turbine wheel. It's a much better match than either the 3076 or 3582. So if the turbine housing is available for the 3582R, it'll work on the 3576.

It's too bad you're restricted to the stock style downpipe, but I understand the convenience of a bolt-on turbo.

I understand that they are the same compressor but I dont think they make the 35 in a low mount nissan 6 bolt because the housing cant flow the air out as fast as that turbo requires. I think the 3076 with .82 ar is the biggest you can get in a bolt on 6 bolt nissan dump flange with a bolt on t3 and even this turbo needs a 10mm spacer at the manifold to clear the head.

I want a bolt on setup but more then that I want a very stock looking setup. I am actually not afraid of fabrication but other then the inter cooler piping Im looking at trying to utilize as many factory components as possible.

This image has been my driving force for this build as far as the engine is concerned. Just look at how sweet and understated all that looks. Minus the huge greddy intake manifold of course.

The 6-bolt turbine housing/downpipe design is kinda crappy, which is why I recommended an EFR.

I guess if you're willing to sacrifice performance for a sleeper look, then that's up to you. I just always try to optimize the flow paths to and from the charger to get maximum performance from it. Saddling it with a stock intake and downpipe design is definitely going to hurt it's output.

I still think that an internal gate 7064 would be the ultimate bolt-on RB25 turbo.

I run a stock modified rb25 manifold with 38mm tail wastegate and garrett gtx3076r .82ar full spool @ 4200 22psi 434whp. If I could go back id buy a good top mount manifold with a gtx35 garrett running lower psi and making more power with bigger camshafts to help with turbo lag. stock manifold made me loose almost 500rpms of spool time and hp. Also power comes on like a light switch and it keeps pulling until u hit limiter or shift with my setup.
