no, its possible to do this at home. if you have enough money to do the swap then im sure they have enough to do it at home. its the same thing as doing the mini 64 mustang conversion to a miata, just a little bigger car.

All I know is that I want a PI based R33 GTR now. Just for the sakes of having it LHD so I can actually drive it safely in our streets and actually get drivethrough with ease...

To me it looks like it never was an r33 on the finished product. but, either way when it comes to skylines i like the older ones so i dont like it really. kinda neat tho about the whole rb when you pop the hood though.

All the cars imported to PI has to be converted to LHD. It's the law. I have several clients I ship cars to there. While visiting, I have seen these type of operations to convert RHD to LHD from Silvia's, Skylines, Patrols, MR2, etc. Typical conversion usually takes approximately about a month depending on how many employees they have. My client had about 250 people working on about 300 minimum cars per month. It's amazing how they chop up the dash board and put it back together. It almost looks stock. Crappy part about it is the turn signal and windshield wiper are on the opposite side. I've got some pics but gotta find them first.

It is a , but it's from years ago, so I'm sure some people have missed it.
While I may not agree with this GTR conversion, it does what it is supposed to do; shows off the shops skill.

why put all that body work into a car thats going to get banged into a wall drifting? the whole idea is dumb. money clearly is not an issue, so just get a r35 and slap some glade stickers on it.

Sorry for being a little late with the pictures but here are some examples.
Skyline in the middle of the process of conversion. Some of the finished dashboard prior to final finish. Some of the finished products. David Feliciano's S15 And my fata$$ after driving an original S15. I would imagine that it if you wanted to get something like that done over there it would cost you between 3k - 5k. The conversion is the cheap part, the car is the expensive part. A clean almost stock S14 there cost around 15k and 10k for an S13. A show car paint job (completely stripped car and painted inside and out) costs only around 1k including bodywork. What is cheap there is labor. |
