Removing the center air vent in an S13

Searched, didn't find anything. Does anyone know how to properly remove the center vent, without breaking it? Thanks, Charles.

pull really hard. Or pry it with something but be careful you don't break it.

That's it. Just be extremely careful. Or if you're going to remove the dash any time soon just wait until you do. Then you have more room to work around the back to pop it out.

Pulling the dash makes it much easier and will make sure that you dont break while removing the piece.

ahhh i remember this... from what I remember , back when I was swapping interior brown to black on my old 240, I lifted the dash up until i could reach behind and push it out. There were tabs on the top and bottom, just push them towards eachother and push out carefully. They will break easily so be careful. If you don't want to lift the dash, get two thin flat head screw drivers, put one on the top and bottom, slowly push them in between the dash and vent, and push towards eachother. This should release the little brackets. Repeat for the other side.

Hope that helps...

That's a lot of bing bang booming for something as simple as pulling out a clipped in plastic piece!

I always wondered that same.. everything i would go to the junkyard i would practice on how to take them out, breaking every single one .. figured its way easier just taking the dash apart and BE PATIENT

taking off the dash sure is a lot of work for a little vent. I'm probably going to break it, lol. I guess we'll see what happens. If anyone else has any ideas, let me know.
