Help me find a fun daily for $3000 or less SOCAL
Just recently moved back to CA and I'm in need of a new daily. I want something that's fun to drive, reasonably economical, and reliable. Oh and most importantly it has to stick to my budget of $3000. I live in LA but I'm willin to drive up to 8 hours away to find something clean.
Just to cap things off the challenge is as follows: Daily Driver 1)fun to drive 2)reliable 3)economical 4)$3000 budget Thanks in advance |

Get a V6 MX3, 5spd.
They're fairly fun, pretty reliable, they sound amazing, have a big spacious hatch, and they're fairly uncommon. With the right exhaust it sounds like an Alfa V6.

I sold mine when I left 1.5 year ago for 600 without an ecu, it was a great truck and the 4x4 helped pull the S13 a few times. I regularly drove from S. OC to N. Hollywood with 19-21 MPG in 2wd. I was astonished by its reliability until the last week when the ECU gave out and left me walking until the day I left. Chicks dig them, too--none of them could stop talking about 'how cute I look in my Tonka.' I managed to fit 10 of my gf's drunk guests in mine after her sisters hen-party from N. Hollywood to Malibu without much of a change in acceleration with it in OD. Its like a Range Rover... except it runs and isn't solely confined to being an endless money pit that leaks oil all over your drive way. If I could change anything, it would be to hold out for a with a manual box 4x4, my auto was a pain in the ass to drive since all I had were manuals all my life. Down-shifts on hills seemed like more of a bewildered request rather than a modulated certainty. Still I miss my 'tonka,' these days. I saw a few imported Shoguns and Pajeros ripping it up in Oslo my first winter--not my thing, but one was getting opposite lock in a smaller EVO. |

On a side note, Manhattan Beach is amazing. I regret moving away from there every day of my life. |
