A/C Lines and setup from scratch

Hey guys. I have a baby on the way and the car is here to stay so now I have to go through the pain of installing AC as I live in NC where its easily 100 OUTSIDE of the car. I am have searched and came up with a list of what I need to make ac work in my car (s14 with s13 sr20).

1. I have an sr AC compressor (hooks up to block and belt operated)
2. I have the s14 AC condenser (the radiator looking thing)
3. I know I'll need the lines. the guy I got the car from removed ALL of them....

What else do I need?

Receiver drier, new O-rings for your lines and a charge. The AC lines can be made with the factory lines and having the SR comp fittings welded on.

I don't have any of the lines though. Where could I get them? NAPA? I'm at like ground zero here minus the compressor and condensor

WTB thread is your friend. There are multiple part out threads going on. Ask around, someone has to have them.

So I know what parts I need. My question is now, I have an SR20 compressor and a us s14 condenser...will the lines and stuff all bolt up ok or do I need to convert threads and such?

My advice:

You have an S13 SR in an S14. JDM lines, fittings etc may be a PITA to source out. I recommend you get an S14 KA24DE compressor & PM Codyace. He makes the adapters for USDM compressors to SR's. This way, you can source out the USDM S14 lines and they will plug & play.

I run an S13 SR w/KA24DE(S13) compressor in my S13... Codyace's adapter kit works perfectly and all of my USDM lines etc connect flawlessly.

There, now you have two choices

Another question. So with my heater core lines...I don't have the valve/cable system thing anymore so do I need to incorporate a valve from say...home depot in there? If I leave it open it will just blow hot right? Also I will need to plug up parts of the AC right? Any special wiring to get it back in there? I have a WS harness btw.

EDIT: Just checked...it does have the plugs sorry for asking stupid questions

So I have both a s14 ka compressor and an s13 redtop sr compressor. Correct me if Im wrong. The redtop comp. will bolt up to my redtop motor just fine but the lines will not work with s14 ones? and the KA needs and adapter but will bolt up just fine to my s14 lines?

Heres how I do it everytime i want A/C on an Sr20det.

Find A/C compressor lines that plug into the compressor. Make sure the O-ring matches up right, and they do not interfere with each other.

Now, use your chassis A/C lines and cut them such that they mate up straight to the compressor and do not interfere with anything. then tig weld them together. Make sure you remove all the burrs , debris, and clean with acetone before welding... because once its welded up you cannot clean the insides free of metal shavings. make sure you remove the oring and schrader valves before welding.

Only way to get around welding the lines is to find a compressor/bracket for sr20det that uses the same a/c lines as your chassis does.
or find a way / make a bracket that will allow your KA compressor to bolt to the redtop. And figure out how to make the belt work.

Ok so I have managed to find a redtop compressor with the lines, and all of the s14 hoses. The only problem I have encountered is the lines off the compressor don't match up to the larger s14 one so I think I am either going to get them welded or maybe make an adaptor from brass fittings from home depot. Suggestions?
