Help me diagnose this power steering issue.
Hi all. I'm running an lsx using the GM type 2 power steering pump. My problem is that I keep killing pumps. At the last event I burnt out my pump on the first turn. I've killed a brand new pump every event since I've done the swap. I'm using synthetic fluid and bleed the system religiously. I can drive around on the road okay, but it seems to be when I'm at high rpms and high angle that the pump fails. I jave a power steering cooler. Everything I'm reading points to the pump, but I'm starting to doubt that. My rack isn't leaking visibly, but I'm starting to suspect it might be the culprit. Any ideas?

Pumps usually have a release for excessive pressure. Like when a chick is driving and she tries to put your car into a spot it wont fit. That sound you hear when she thinks that you can make it turn even sharper than physics will allow. Dont know this pump in particular but it sounds like something is not releasing the extra build up of pressure. Or maybe try bigger pulley to slow down revolutions a bit. Kinda outta my wheelhouse. Good talk though!!
