Well I made a hell of a mess today. It was a bit of a pain in the ass, compared to removing a rb20. As with most rb clips, I removed it by onbolting the sub frame and letting the motor drop onto a tire, then lifting the clip up and moving it away. The awd got in the way of things alittle, and some ac crap was keeping the motor from dropping, since, the impact pushed the motor against it. So I just got a big ass saw and cut the clip in two. Everything looks good, the turbos look great and no other broken things, The PS is also fine, I just have to switch the pullie. It mad a hell of a mess, and now there is left overs of about 5 swaps on the side of my house. I need to set up a weekend to clean all this crap up. Top Hat is making my mounts for free, So now the only hold up is finding a rb25det tranny. If any of you guys know where one is, it would be greatly appreciated ! ! ! I will keep you up to date on the progress of the whole project. If I find a rb25 tranny, I would be on the dyno in two weeks, it all relies on that transmission.
-Thanks, Snail |

you could use a 300zx tranny with the rb26 bellhousing, there is a few more minor mods needed, and you still use the rb clutch and flywheel i think too

I just put the tac in, about 5min ago. I did a half ass job but its cool as long as it works untill I get my aluminium dash. It only took about 10minuts, but if you have 20minuts, you could clip bits of the plastic off, as you can see my tac is in there at a 1deg slant. I have not touch the 26 today, Ive been quite lazzy, but I did buy anouther 240. The towing guy should be here any time now.

I can’t believe it you are actually pulling it through, when you told me about the swap at the drift show I thought you where joking. But it is nice to see everything turn out alright; if you need any help let me know. Can you ask if Top Hat is willing to make mounts for Sr onto 510 for my brother?
Talk to you later Mo |

Hey, TheSnail, I noticed you're in Marietta. I'm from there, too, but live in Athens now. Where do you work that you can get Stoptechs? Good luck with the project. I'm just trying to get my '90 SE on the road right now, let alone be able to afford a Skyline swap.... :-(

I was wondering who Chip sold that motor to. He really imports some quality stuff. I'm currently running one of his redtops. I am working on getting him to import me a rb25 though. Best of luck to ya. Let me know as soon as I can come see that motor(KA)

I do go to Southern Poly, though I am out for the semester. I have mazda b3000, which is the same thing as a ranger. Was the truck red? I probably gave you a ride, though I drink so much that I have the memory of a small dog. Give me a call at 678-358-1716 if you want to hang out sometime. Quote:
Thanks man, now since that rb20 car is on ebay, I give it 5days before the 26 is on the road. I will be sure to make a new thread once it comes out of its 11 month hibernation -Snail |
