i need some help on a '91 300zx vg30dett with 2 jwt 530 turbos and a godspeed front mount intercooler, the problem is, im not real sure how to mount my intercooler with both turbos and its a pretty cramped engine bay.

If im not mistaken you actually will need to relocate the Oil cooler that is up front, cause a front mount wont fit.
I think if you look around on say 300zx.com you should be able to find a HOW-TO in terms of relocating the Oil Cooler. Also they may even make something from say Z1 or Specialty Z to help with this process. I may be mistaken like i said but i am almost positive about this lol. |

Either use a Properly designed FMIC or dont use one at all because it wont be as efficient and it will have a larger pressure drop to one that is designed for the Z32. plus im betting that godspeed FMIC doesnt have a good IC core to begin with.
there are two types of intercoolers available to us and those are SMIC's and FMIC's the Z was designed with SMIC's so most people buy them instead of the poorly designed FMIC's that flood the market for most cars anyway. here are a few SMIC's that you can buy. you can click the underlined names to bring you the the respective website where you can purchase them. Greddy HKS Z1 The Z1's are the cheapest and have decent flow and pressure drop. Stillen here is the best SMIC's available for the Z32 currently. Ash Spec Massive's V2 and the best FMIC you can get is made by TDM aka (turbo demon) TDM Works FMIC kit I currently have Z1 side mounts and I will be purchasing ASH-SPEC V's when i have the funds available. but if you want to stay with the FMIC from godspeed i think Z1 sells the kit, 770.838.7777, www.300zx.com if you want cheap get the Z1's. no relocating the oil cooler, and they bolt right in..

Ash massives is the way to go you don't want a FMIC in the first place because then thats less efficent the cooling system is so if your doing it for looks thats a damn shame...
Here is my build 300ZXttZMAN build thread.. Its time to go broke or GO HOME! : 300ZX (Z32) General |
