Painting handles?
I feel like an idiot for even asking, but I can't seem to find a way to pull the door handles completely apart for paint. Is there some secret, or do you just paint them as a single assembly?

I tried to pull them apart when I wrapped mine. Couldn’t figure it out either ... looks like the pin that holds the handle together is like a rivet or something...

Base doors are easy peezy. There is a wire wrap that goes around the lock cylinder from the rear, it could be tricky to see but its just a simple wire that acts like a c-clip. There are 1 or 2 Phillips screws that need to be removed along with the 2 10mm nuts and rod clips.
Now if you have SE power doors, there is a large half moon shaped plastic piece which I assume is the motor for the power locks, I could NOT figure out how to pull that out through the door opening. May be other members had more luck than I. Good luck. |
