s13 Suspension: S14 Front Spindle wont fit into S13 Ball joint?

Hello fellow Techs,

I just installed S14 Front Spindles and they're not sitting in the A Arm ball joint very well. It seems that the ball joint on a S13 is bigger than the S14 ball joint hole. It isn't sitting very flush with the bottom of the A arm or even near it. Also the nut on the top of the ball joint thread doesn't clear the cotter pin hole. It's hard to get a angle to push the spindle down far enough, I just got a ball joint puller today i could use it to also press the spindle further down the ball joint. Any ideas??

LMK. Thanks!

S13 and S14 front ball joints are DIFFERENT. Do NOT try using this combo. You will most likely break something which would be bad news if you are cruising.

S13 = S13

S14 = S14

Do not try mixing them

since S14 LCA's are harder to find, here's easier solution.

buy new ball joints for S14, Moog part number K9820
find a J30 Front LCA.

problem solved.

Is the J30 LCA as long as the S14 control arm?? I know the S13 arm is shorted than the S14.

J30 and S14 LCA's are same length. and identical location/diameter holes for the ball joint and tension rods.
