I had a 96 hose on the car when I ruined the 97 one installing the SR the first time, and it was the same...and now I need another new one for doing the same damn thing twice...

They may show the same, but they're not. I've stripped enough S14s and played swap on hoses to know better. I also have the OE parts book which has a different number for each year as listed above.
