steering column

I have a 1995 s14. For some reason my steering column is off. For my car to go straight my steering wheel used to have to be turned to the right quite a bit. I figured it was just the alignment but when I took off my steering wheel to double check, my steering column is angled off to the right about 15-20 degrees. The "top" mark of the stud is angled off. So what could be wrong about it? Someone install the steering column on the axles messed up or is my alignment really that messed up with the toe angles on the front tires?

is this a problem I should get fixed ASAP or can be waited on?
