SR "Have you ever seen a gasoline sprinkler system?"

So this is the text I got from my mechanic today. I should've been but I couldn't help but . Seriously though, my car is just one string of bad luck after the other. I am finally getting my haltech tuned and my Sard 550's installed, and this happens. I did some research earlier, when he first installed them b/c he didn't feel they were seating right, and I found that you need to use the stock o-rings on the upper portion, in addition to the o-rings that the injectors come with, which we did. On Saturday, we even primed the pump and the lines pressurized with no leaks on the rail. Today, he reinstalled the intake manifold and everything else, went to start it, and the 'sprinkler system' happened. He can't even get it to idle.
These are the ones I have:
SARD 63508

According to all the research these are the correct ones that I need for my Sr. I have a kouki s14 sr with a stock fuel rail. I've also read about lubricating the o-rings and all that, so that's not the issue. I'm just wondering what could be wrong?
I'm so excited to finally get my car running right, so I desperatly need your help.

Fuel is coming out of the top of the rail, like a 'sprinkler'. I haven't actually seen it with my own eyes, but I talked to him, and I ahve a pretty good visual given the description. BTW, the sard collars and injector plugs are being used.

its shooting out of it? I didn't think that was possible.... wholly crap.... On all 4 injectors? If its 1 or 2, then installation issue, but all 4, that is something wrong....

You need 2 sets of o-rings for the top o-ring? That is crazy.... I only know 1 other person with SARDS and that was steve shadows and he had 740cc.... Maybe you can pm him

Yeah, I searched on here and found a couple of references to this. Apparently, in order to have them seat correctly, you use the stock o-ring on the upper portion, in addition to the SARD o-ring. I'm hoping that steve or john griff will chime in here, or anyone else that has experience with this.

Doesn't sound like the rail has seated properly so it isn't going all the way on. I had that problem before. I removed the rail, relubed the orings with silicone spray and pressed the rail back on evenly. Tighten it slowly from left to right and see how that goes.

Both top O rings?

No no no, stock top ring (GET OEM NEW) and SARD lower. make sure you put the spacer/adapter in first from the bottom, then the oem top ring, then the lower.

IIRC, the top ring that those come with (for subaru) are way to big to seat in the rail correctly, so if you forced them in, it probably shreded and pushed both o-rings all apart.

Plenty of people use Denso Type II injector, I just saw a thread not a day or two ago on the main page about it.

John,
thanks for the reply. I worded it incorrectly, in that the oem ones were used for the top only, and the lower ones are the sard. Any idea which oem rings to use? Sr20de's? KA's?

SARD injectors need COLLARS

yes collarsr to seat them properly and make them seat fully while closing the top gap on the Denso molded Nissan RAIL.
They go in between the rail and the lower (upper) lip of the injector

It looks like you already have a bag of them in your top picture. Just make sure they are flipped around and installed properly. Play around with them and make sure they are seated the proper way with the right fit. Get an extra set of OEM nissan o rings as well

as john as said...

Thanks for all the replies. Only 2 of the injectors are leaking, so it has to be an install problem. Gonna pull the fuel rail, and replace the upper o-rings. I'm trying to find an oem replacement and saw that this is supposed to be a direct replacement for the S13 sr:
Upper injector o-ring
16618-53J00
7/95 and newer 300ZX TT (small/upper)
I go this info from the FAQ's forum.
Just curious if I can use these on an S14 sr? If anyone can verify, please chime in, as I will be picking these up this week.

I believe they work... S13 and S14 SR the same, S15 is the only difference... Make sure the packages aren't opened, cause my local nissan just stuffed anything into those bags....
