Couldn't find a pic of New Zealand's Kaiju Crush that was annoyingly too huge to post.

But I sense a toy line coming.

I dig Gypsy Danger & Striker Eureka. The rest look like junk. Crimson Typhoon seems cool, butbeing from China, I imagine it's built with Megan parts.

I guess Ill stop calling a Guillermo del Toro a hack for ripping off anime since he cites it as his source of inspiration.

Maybe Bandai will get a contract and make some MG kits.

Crap like this always confounds me however... we'll never see a serious Eva or Gundam movie, but Hollywood will make something very similar with an epic budget all no fucks given.

I was thinking Big O meets Eva.

The robots in this have a very crude look to them.

Hmmmm Getter Robo

I was trying not to get intrigued but after seeing that last clip with Del Toro, I can't help but not to be. It just screams cheesey to me but if his goal is to make me excited like I was 12 yrs old again, I might just see it. I just hope it doesnt suck like Battleship.

Also, why are there multiple pilots for each Jaeger?

The logical fallacies of giant mecha robots in an otherwise regular world make me want to drill holes in my head so I can get on level with the average person that seems not to mind such stupidity being marketed at them every day.
Such a premise should only be acceptable in anime and comic books, where it is easier to overlook logic and common sense.

Same goes for every superhero movie.

Actually, almost any new movie.

The only logical fallacy is...

If you had the ability to build super robots.... and they would get the job done...why on earth would you not?

General: My God! Giant Monsters!

Scientist: We can build Giant robots to stop them.

Accountant: But wouldn't normal tanks and planea work.

Scientist: Yes

General: But so would super robots...

Scientist: Yes

Accountant: But it would cost trillions more, no?

Scientist: Of Course....

General: But we could then fist fight the monsters?

Scientist: Precisely.

General: Then we build Super Robots

Being an entertainment designer, I can not wait for this.
So far everyone I know in the industry who has seen it says it's amazing, and it's totally a Del Toro film.

But if it turns out v to be a Eva rip off, it will break my heart.

What would be wrong with Eva? Crazy monsters, mecha, special effects and girls in plugsuits for the general public.

Epic anime coming to life with potentially a more flushed out, steam lined story with hopefully a better ending for the fan boys.

Win win win.

It is GlaDos, aka Ellen McLain.

Lets give the robots a German name because they are fighting in the Pacific... I swear it's just for a bro-moment in the theater. "Dude, Jägermeister means Master Hunter Bro."

Definitely big boy entertaining. Like I said before, of you go in and shut your brain off... You'll enjoy it. If you go in expecting an academy award-winning movie, you'll be severely disappointed.
