Upon further review, they went to brit first, then opted it to LA Reid, who was at Def Jam, home of both Rihanna AND Christina Milian... Actually, her label turned it down without her ever hearing it... We tied it all together after the post you quoted... The song went through several hands before it was commissioned to Def Jam, where it was presented to Christina Milian and Rihanna, it was shopped to Mary J Blige just after that, who just didn't have time for it.
