need info on 05 G35 calipers
I've search thru the forums but couldn't find anything on the 05 G35 calipers. Supposedly they were rework from the 04. I just wanted to know if they will fit on the 240sx (without adapter) or if anyone can point me to the spec. BTW, I'd search on G35driver as well with no solid info.
Thanks |

I assume you are talking about the G35 Brembo calipers? They do not mount without any adapters and are not "bolt-on" as far as I know. I have seen them on 240SXs before but probably with some kind of adapters.
BTW, the 05 G35 doesn't have Brembos anymore, only the 03 and 04 models.

Thats crap...but I guess the G35 isn't a hardcore sports car anyways.
I believe the old G35 brembos = 350Z brembos = R34 GT-R brembos, which are reworked R33 Brembos w/ different bolt sizes and color (gold instead of...black?) Anything will fit with time and money. The R33 GT-R's bolt right up as far as I remember. |

No, I'm talking about just the regular calipers. Non-Brembo. My buddy is upgrading to a 6 pistons calipers so I have a chace to get the stock set for cheap. I just wanted to know if they will fit on my car.

And from what a lot of my friends who have either driven or own G35 coupes, they can't handle worth crap in stock form, underpowered for the weight and feels like a bank vault on wheels = not good sports car. More a cruising/touring luxury car. Wouldn't mind having one as a weekend cruiser though.

A little misinformation here.
The CVP33/V35/Z33 Brembos are the same calipers as used on the BNR34, they will bolt direct up to S13/S14/S15 and Z32 if you drill the spindle holes out to 14mm, the OE size is 12mm. The calipers simply use larger mounting bolts, you'll also need to get those bolts or an equivalent since they're shorter than the OE. I have heard of people using a press in insert into the caliper to avoid drilling the spindle (it's a serious amount of work with normal hand tools) but I like the idea of the correct fasteners. The BNR33 calipers are nearly identical but they use the smaller 12mm bolts and will go on without any effort. In the rear, it's a different story, the caliper ears are slightly farther out (about 116mm vs. the OE 110mm) so you can either bolt it one hole and build a leg to secure the other one, or make a thin plate to bring the points further out. Same issue with bolt size, 14mm hole is required. All G35 brakes bolt to the same spindle, so non-Brembo models are the same, however I do not know if the 05 model was changed in that resepct or not. Conclusion, get his calipers and see if they'll fit, then we'll know it wasn't changed.

That contracdicts:
Quote:
BNR34 = 350Z brembo I highly doubt anyone needs those; 3z brakes are overkill for most people already anyways. |

why buy brembos when you can have front Rotora for the price of one brembo caliper and rotor of a BNR34 or G35

Plus I like the fact that there is no adapter bracket used when you go OE.
