slung a rod
i just bought a s13 with a slung rod
is the whole block trashed? or can i use it with new internals? i know this is prolly a stupid question sorry |

All depends on what caused it. Only way you can tell is by disassembling it. If its bad rod from bad tuning/detonation, then everything should be pretty much salvageable. If its from a bad oil pump, then that will all depend on how bad of an oil pump it was and how much component starved of oil. Again, only way to tell is by disassembling it.
PS: Word of advice, if you're gonna do a rebuild, either way, buy a new oil pump so you wont have to worry about it later down the road... |

i think it would be less trouble and less money to just buy a used engine from a junk yard or on line im guessing you have a single slammer and those engines are every where for really cheap to people just cant get rid of them

ive looked at it and i dont think it acually slung a rod.. just bad rod nock or something, i think he killed the piston rings and just messed up the internals.. i'll pull it apart and make sure
