NismoS13Chuki

so ive been attempting to find why my s13 has been sucking down gas and i started to check the cts and i dont know if its in the wiring or the sensor its self that maybe causing a problem. i can tell you that the plug was spliced in by the previous owner and if i jump the leads idle stays same but right as i disconnect jump idle goes up for a second. if i connect the plug and move it around the idle will raise for a good 10secs then drop again. now can anyone tell me how to check the cts its self to see if its working correctly? p.s check voltage at wire leads close to 5v unplugged
