I just bought my first s13 hatch and it grinds 2nd. I was givin a tranny with the car but it turns out to be a SOHC tranny. Can i just swap the gears form the SOHC trany to the DOHC housing?

No need. Just use the Sohc trans.

The SOHC trans bolts are snapped off in the tranny for the reverse switch and i believe its the crank angle sensor that the SOHC trans doesnt have and i really dont want any check engine lights on if it as easy as swapping over the gears.
