So you are asking for advise on illegal activities on a public forum?

Have fun hacking up your firewall numbers. Hopefully you do a really good job and no cop ever see's anything fishy or your pipe dream will be sent to a crusher.
If you have the money to import one why not do it the right way? Or just do a rhd and sr20 swap on yours? This is almost as good is "how to import a skyrine" |

commen sense would dictate it's possible and get away with it.
if i have a crashed white z32 and i import say a jdm z32 because it's jdm and vin swap them then it can be a legal car just that you had the steering modified for the passenger side. i thought about importing a R32 gtr from canada and vin swapping it with a S14 i would buy. seriously what cop is going to put your car on a lift and check if it's stolen? the paper work for registration is a PAIN in the ass and takes a long time what if i wanna drive my skyline now and flash it off to people? |

I am not going to do it, I was just wondering if it was possible?
Why don't we make a thread asking if we can import truck loads of narcotics or if it is possible to stick a watermelon up your ass and ingest it? Because that would be stupid, and you wouldn't do it anyway, that's why. |

lol its more than ONE federal crime.
1. vin tampering 2. emissions tampering (trying to pass one thing off for another) 3. dmv fraud if you register one car as something else. yeah you could possibly get away with it, but having a RHD car already is a big red flag for many cops, they're not exactly common stateside. |

Isn't it the same thing when someone from Washington has a skyline, but when the vin is checked out it says it's an altima? Like I said it would be easier to get away with it since they're exactly the same car, just different interior parts.

YES sometimes a cop will go over every inch of your car and all possible vin number locations. I got puller over in my old z32 after painting black from red and ON THE WAY to the dmv to change the regi color I was pulled over. My dash vin#, firewall, doorjam and window #'s where all checked before I was allowed to drive. . This is a stupid thread you don't have enough money to do this if you have to ask. You can't even bring a canadian imported skyline across the border without a ton of b.s unless you talk the owner into driving across for you and flying him back. N2m the repercussion he can take if theres a problem. |

On that off chance that you do believe this most cops are smart enough to realize something is up the second they see a RHD car and to top it off a turbo under the hood and the shitty ass job you did putting the VIN numbers in.

Man w/ CTSV & a Car Seat

WHAT?!?! You have no idea what you're talking about. Certain states are lenient when it comes to gray market cars and let folks register some cars. You can get these cars STATE legal since most states dont care, doesnt mean they'll let you swap vins from one car to another. Most of the time, they will assign a NEW VIN to the car (WA does this) or some states like FL will take the JDM vin for what it is.

lol at the moral police.
Lawful =/= moral, what he is doing certainly isn't legal. It's highly illegal because the Feds have nothing better to do then to impose restrictions on what you can do. But saying that it's not "right" implies there are issues of morality. Why is it "wrong" when it's a victim-less "crime"? Who is wronged if he were to swap VIN plates? Answer: no one. |

Since were already on the topic of RHD. I just gotta ask (because I cant seem to find an answer) Is it LEGAL to convert a LHD vehicle to RHD? Seems like a no, since you'd be using a RHD dash that has a Japanese vin. Tanks in advance.

Every RHD S chassis (not including S15, was not looking that close) I have seen has not even had a dash VIN. But you can still get the car blue tagged or something like that.
