SR20DET tachometer signal drops after 5K

I am having an issue in my SR20DET swap. The engine and everything is fine but when my tachometer reaches 5K RPM it drops to 3K RPM and just kinda bounces around. I have the signal wire of the tach going to pin 30 on the stock 62 ECU (Cam angle sensor - 180 degree signal). Otherwise the tach is fine from 0-5K RPM.

What should I be looking for? Anyone have this problem before?

Always used the ecu rpm signal wire from ecu and used a pull up resistor for my tachs.

The tach should be connected to ECU pin #3.
