YelloLion's RB25 S14 Build
I've been debating posting my build and progress for a couple of weeks.. Soo to hell with it, here it is.
I bought my Kouki last summer with a stock KA, pretty reliable just not the power I wanted, so i finally got some balls and said fuck it time for an RB25!! So i pulled out the old, gonna go in and start prepping the bay for a fresh coat of paint.. Just not 100% on what color imma do just yet but its definitely gonna be wild found this nugg in the rad support Picked up this from the engine Depot. She's a little rough but with some TLC she'll be back and better than before. Started breaking her down getting in the sweet juices, everything came off nice and smooth. But i do need to find a complete hose kit so any help on that will be greatly aperrrciate it. Im not trying to cut any corners on this build, so while i had everything torn apart i got to work on the fusebox relocation/battery relocate. That battery tray was a bitch to get off couple busted knuckles later got it off. Pulled fusebox and kick panel harness, went to town on taking that 11 year old wire loom and tape off half hour and about 15 spider nest later this is how shes looking. I will try to have some more pix uploaded sometime next week. thanks for checkin it out, feel free to give your input and advice. |

OK, so its been about 5 long hell-filled months but I'm finally back on the ball and this is whats been goin on behind closed doors.
Got her all cleaned up with some Purple Power and a couple of degreaser cans from autozone. Stripped her down, about to get ready for some primer. Used some rattle can Self Etching Primer from H.Depot. Then wet sanded. Took long as shyt but its almost there. Truck bed liner for the wells. Finally!!!! got this thing painted and wet sanded didnt really wanna put the clear coat down figured ill do that when I do the next rebuild, change up the color maybe. But the pictures dont do it justice. This this is BRIGHTer! Got these bad boys from FRsport. Gotta start buttoning this thing up just waiting on some parts that are backorder, and just a couple more things from Rawbrokerage, who by the way are AWESOME! Very helpful and shipping is pretty fast. This is my first RB build/swap so im not trying to go balls out just right away. So I'm only doing a semi-stock rebuild. Ordered OEM gasket set ARP headstuds ACL Main Bearings .001 xtra oil clearance tomei oil restrictors Oem Piston ring set Mishimoto rad Well that's pretty much everything thats been goin on I'll have more updates once these parts get here from Rawbrokerage and FRsport. it will definitely be mounted in the car but still wont be ready to start until I get down to FL sooooooooo enjoy for now and good night... |

Why are you running Tomei Restrictors? Running N1 oil pump? Since you're pretty much tearing down the bottom end, I'd suggest doing the extended collar mod since you're in there for added peace of mind later down the road.

I'm actually only running 1 Tomei Restrictor. And yes Imma also run the N1 pump just not at the moment, cash is tight plus I'm moving down to FL to start school. This is just a LIGHT build the whole move thing was VERY unexpected, but I wanna just test it out see how hard I can actually push it but still cover my ass a bit. Running stock oil pump and stock collar FOR NOW as well.

Headed out to the shop today, time for the pistons to be installed. This was definitely the HARDEST part, but once you get into a groove its not that bad took about 2 1/2 hours when completely sober.
I used the stock pistons just used Brakleen and a medium wire brush just to get SOME of the grime off. SOONNNN REALLLL SOONNNN |

Had the head torqued down on the firts stage had to run out to Sears and grab this socket. Since no other "autoparts" store sells them.
Cleaned up the Rocker covers with Eagle One Aluminum cleaner and a medium scrub brush. Too lazy to the other side so I waited till I was back at the shop. Came out pretty nice though. FMIC mounted up. Have to cut off only this much of the bumper support for the FMIC to fit. Sweet sex with the Home Depot lip Lmao. Finally got the head torqued down and installed intake manifold. Broke the PS bracket NEED NEW ONE PM IF YOU HAVE FORSALE. ALL DONE. Looking all sexy and shhhhiieett. Still needs some minor shyt though Installed the Mckinney Mounts aswell. I should be dropping the motor some time this week just waiting on my harness to get here from Rawbrokerage. ENjoi! |
