The polar shift is going to cause the mantle and the core to twist or spin inside of the crust, which will cause the crust to shift, only the techtonic plates will be too massive to shift smoothly, so they will crash into eachother which will cause mass earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunami's, hurricanes, etc. There will be a massive change in earths biological life and geographical structure... However it will eventually settle down, the polar caps which will have shifted completely will establish themselves, and those that are wealthy/prepared enough will survive to form the new human culture, hopefully without fucking it up this time.

Long story short in about 25-200 years antarctica will be on the equator, all the continents will be fucked up and shifted, and were going to basically be starting over(kinda like how pangea used to be the way earth looked), only with current knowledge so technology will advance much faster and hopefully this time without religious and cultural conflict so we can unite as one nation, one language, one currency, and one economic goal-which will be to GTFO of this planet and find a more habitable one.

So why does an ancient civilization who was so primitive yet so advanced choose 2012 as an end date. Well there's where the debate begins. Since the calendar is in fact a CYCLE, does it mean the world will end or simply start anew? Now why would I be open minded about some primitive BC dated indians? They invented the concept of zero for fucks sake! They accurately mapped out the stars with the naked eye. They were G quadrouple fucking OG's!

So the year 2012 is made significant by the Mayans as well as others such as NASA and Nostradamus to name a few (do a little research ). Now in history, I've taken notice that everything that starts out as "science-fiction" (movies, novels, ideas) has a tendency of becoming actual science soon after. Have you seen "I am Legend?". Now if you are like I am and pay close attention to obvious details you'd notice some similarities from the movie in comparison to real life. One, what year does the woman say it is at the end of the movie? 2012. Two, how many years prior to 2012 did they announce the discovery of the "cure for cancer"? 4, making it 2008. Funny thing is, a week ago, my friend and I were sitting at my homies house watching the news and guess what they announced? They found a cure for cancer. Three, what were the gas prices in the movie? Six something a gallon. We're hitting 4 dollars now, we're not that far away.
You can call me paranoid, and more than likely I am, but I just thought I'd point this out as it's something I've pondered about. "

eh, unless we can invent a way to travel faster than MAGNITUDES of the speed of light, it's not really going to be that great of an idea.

I could see leap frogging to mars as an alternative if the sun starts to die, but the the race is on for that magnitude of light speed technology I mentioned

well as the sun dies i.e. runs out of fuel it gets bigger which will get closer to our planet and pull us in stronger which will kill our ozone and evaporate all the water and so life will cease to exist, which by that time we will need to be on either titan or Io (moons orbiting distant planets) both have ice on them which when they are closer to the sun will turn to water, form ozone, habitate life, etc.

I dont know exactly how long the sun has to live but im sure its thousands of years, so were probably going to end up killing ourselves before then.

Basically, if relating the world ending to the bible, well not nescesarily ending, but hell breaking loose, it has just as good of a chance any day. Things can change fast.

The world isnt ending in 2012, its just merely going through a phase shift. In 2012 our solar system will move from the left side of the milky way galaxy to the right side.

This coupled w/ the schuman resonance maxing out at the same time will cause alot of interesting stuff to happen, what will happen..idk, some ppl think we will transcend and evolve, others think that large scale violence and war purging good and evil will first happen followed by ascension.
