The Dam 240sx Meet at Buford Dam (ATL)

The date is official. Sunday May 29th. 10:30AM to 5PM officially. Tophat Performance will be sponsoring the event and supplying the food. I would suggest folks bring a cooler of drinks since nothing will be cold if we get it right before the meet.

Tophat and SEDA will be out in force. Tophat will have some cars there as well as some info about their shop.

Everyone say thanks to Mike Sims from Tophat for stepping up to make this a great meet.

The whole 240s_over_Atlanta crew will be there, same as last year.

For directions and information:

Upper Overlook is where we will be.

Pencil me in, I will be deciding on whether or not I am coming out of town on that Friday, dependent upon what my funds are looking like

Good to hear it. Looks like a large 240sx contingent will be there from the sounds of it elsewhere.

85n to SR20 (Mall of GA).
West on SR20 to Suwanee dam rd.
Right on Suwanee dam rd to Buford dam rd.
Left on Buford dam rd to Upper Overlook on the left.
If you go across the dam itself, you have gone too far.

Ok, so as the guy that put this together, I thought that the weather had something to do with the lack of attendance this year. I am going to hazard a guess at about 30 to 35 cars showed up throughout the day and 50 or so people. There were some uncommon cars that showed up as well, the full blown true JDM S14 that was vin'ed out of washington state and the s14 rb26dett swapped car that was very clean. Only problem that we had was the rb26dett driver (didn't catch his name) was the ONLY fool this year that spun his tires, other than that he was a nice guy. Everyone else knew better or acted their age or better. There were alot of rattle traps and a lot of stockers there as well. One of the highlights of the day was seeing Russ and Chad show from the 240s_over_Atlanta crew with a trailered Sil-80 that was completly sick looking (in a good way). I have to say, that was the highlight of the cars for me. As well as the Titan it was being pulled behind. The Titan had some massive black 5 spokes on it with Stoptech big brakes. Very cool. Chet and Justin had slept in my den the night before. I woke their sorry a5535 up around 6:30 AM when I was putting on coffee and making breakfast. We were all out by 7:20 washing the cars and getting ready for the day. Torrey (ezcheese from NICO) showed up about 9:00. We were at the dam at 9:40 to make sure we had a pavilion for the day. Mike Sims from Tophat Performance showed up soon after that with a couple of folks from his shop to cook for us and provide us with information on his shop and all of their many services (his shop sponsored the meet this year). The rest of the day went the same as last year, people came and went most of the day. I had a good time and others had a good time, but if you were out there last year, you know it wasn't the same. Thanks to all for coming out and making it what it was, a dam good day.
