I went to change the the oil pan pan today and it came out with some extra

I have no idea what it is but its just to the left of where the oil pickup mounts. Any one have an idea as to what this is or if its absolutely necessary?

And here is what fell off ( broke off? )

apparently this is part of the lower front cover or the oil pressure relief valve part of the oil pump

looks like i have hella work to do

i would say the hardest part is removing/installing the oil pan n u got that already. no need to remove the head. I'd say the most painful part is paying for a new pump..

well Ive been thinking about it and i really need to do the emmissions delete to clean up the bay, put my new radiator in, and put in my new clutch sooooo Im just gonna pull it. Ill prob get a cometic head gasket and and arp head studs so I know ill be a little more dependable under boost. I hope and pray to have this done soon! Its been never ending project hopefully this will wrap it up
