KA turbo.
I have a pretty much stock KA24DE in an s13 and I want to know whats the best way to start turboing it. don't tell me to build it, this is one of those 'turbo-blow-swap' kinda things. now I'm not looking to blow it, but if I do a swap is going in. whats the best way to start a low-psi turbo on my motor? any suggestions? I think I may have a start but I wanted EXPERIENCED input. thank you.

to save yourself from future problems here, i would search and read as much as possible and then if you have any problems or questions then ask.
people have been modding the ka for some time now, your not going to do anything special that hasnt been done before. no offense but its true. If you want to do a small build then look into the isis kit, with a jwt or enthalpy tune. but the list will go on, i/c, fuel pump, exhaust, misc shit, injectors, maf. id start reading then collecting parts in the for sale section. you can make decent power on little money, but then again you get what you pay for.

hey Edwin, how about you take your skepticism elsewhere. in other words, I was asking how much it could hold and what I have to do MINIMAL to still get that extra push without building. like I said, I don't know anything about turbos, so I wouldn't know where to start. jackass.

all the info you want is already out there and very well documented. Search. No spoon feeding here. ESPECIALLY for a topic that has been beaten to death and then some. C'mon dude, get real...

god ppl, google search.
im on my 2nd ka-t. first off make sure you got good compression on all 4 cylinders and that you have no internal damage etc. if its below 160psi on all 4 don't bother turbo the motor as you will blow it up. guarantee, happened to me. Considering your motor is in good shape start with getting some parts for cheap, exhaust, sr 370, z32maf, walbro 255 fuel pump, some decent sr t25, manifold, fmic, lines, fuel filter lalalaa. Tune is the key. It can be a nice set up on stock internals, if you manage the fuel, timing etc. There are always exceptions to everything, some ka-t users push more than 30psi on stock internals, but how many engines they went through? You might luck out pushing hard too. Do some research on what you need, like someone already mentioned ka-t.org is the best place to start. The better parts you get the better you off in the long run. I am still running ebay manifold with no issues, but not saying you should do the same. My first ka-t lasted me less than 2 weeks, lack of research, preparation and craving for boost got me on the side of the road with a spun bearing. I say build it, because nothing can beat reliability with 16psi out of a gt2871r Besides you can make more power with less effort if you have a prepped engine. I built my second ka-t over winter. Sourced parts on some good deals and got it done in a month, working every weekend. total spent around 2.5k, most work done myself, even porting and polishing the head. And since you say you have some mechanical knowledge with engines this should be a cake walk. hope it helped. |

If you haven't even taken the time to search this website for what you're looking for, then don't post a dumb ass thread asking for a handout and expect help.

wasn't asking for a handout bitch, and this is why I don't do forums, because of all the *SNIP* that talk shit like that, and for the guys who actually help, ka-t.org has been very useful so thank you. everyone else can take the dick out of their ass and stop fucking their cat. I was asking for advice, not a handout, sorry mommy and daddy don't pay for everything.

Stop fucking crying.
I did a KA-T build like 3 years ago and I was able to search, find what I needed and got the car running. I was your age, and I didn't use my mommy or daddy's money either. If you don't like this forum, leave! No one will miss you.

haha forum monkeys. so funny, and yet I know now why I only use these for classifieds. hahaha no one's crying fuckboy, its so funny how you guys have nothing better to do. all I was asking for was a start, I found one before I posted this and to be honest, I just wanted to see what kind of people were on this site, which proves my point that forums are nothing but a haven for people to act hard behind the keyboard. if anyone has a problem with me and feels like doing something outside of cyberspace, my address is 2516 S. Pacer Lane Cocoa, FL 32926 my name is Zach and I drive a silver 240. I'm out. bunch of queers.

Way to get pinked before you hit 20 posts.
Half the hit you have already said isnt allowed on this forum. Regardless of how many times the info your looking for has been regurgitated, and even answered in this pointless as thread you started. I hope you get fucking banned for all the asinine shit you just spewed all over your monitor. Welcome to zilvia, some motherfuckers just have to learn the hard way. * hey wish_one edit those out of your posts. Pinking can be contagious
