And I guess I wrote that post before I knew the car was a '90...fools at the dealership listed it as an '89. And that the head gasket is almost certainly blown. yay for head! Ben

Hey guys, just registered here...thought I'd make this my first post. I'm about to buy an S14 and I live in the Denver area. Is there any kind of Colorado 240 club? If so, are there going to be any meets before it gets too cold? Also, any tracks around here? Not drag strips, but road courses.

Bump from the dead...
Obviously this corner of the boards gets little-to-no action, but I'm hoping to get some input. Me and my wife are toying with the idea of leaving Southern California for a number of states, but one that has our particular interest is Colorado. (The Denver metro area, or more specifically Westminster among other nearby cities) Just looking for some thoughts from locals on what the area has to offer and/or what drawbacks there are to living there, and how the local economy/job market/etc. are doing. Neither of us are really tied down by a career or kids yet, so we're trying to keep our options open, and Colorado has us both intrigued. Obviously I'm also curious about the local car culture, and how the laws and enforcement are on modified vehicles. (specifically ours, especially since I'm going to want to go SR at some point) All-in-all what I am asking is for Colorado residents to please give an inside opinion on the state in which you live, since obviously everything I'll find on state/city websites are going to be blowing sunshine. Thanks in advance.

Can't tell you much about the local car scene, spend too much time on the computer running this site, but from a place to live standpoint, I love it here in Colorado, I moved here in 1990 from the east coast and wouldn't consider anyplace else.
Weather is always great, except for the occassional snow, like today, but most of the time the sun is out and winters are quite mild. Not sure what you do for a living but the economy here is quite diverse, ranging from high-tech to manufacturing, and while the whole country is in a slump right now, the analysts are saying Colorado is well positioned to weather this and probably recover quicker than alot of areas. As for housing, yes we had the rise in home prices, like everywhere else with some recent correction in pricing. Good luck, wherever you decide.

Okay, well it's taken some time to work towards it with a stop in Vegas to make it happen, but it looks like we're finally making it to Colorado. (won't have the official word until later tonight I'm sure, but it looks pretty likely) My wife is trying to transfer to Littleton, and if it happens we'll probably be out there within the month. First night we're there we plan on going to the nearest Wahoo's since we haven't had any since leaving CA. I've also already got my resume into a local dealership out there for a tech position, although this is not my first choice. So what's there to do locally and what kind of job openings are there?
Edit: We are moving to Littleton on the 15th of next month. So any input would be greatly appreciated.

So... yeah, anything? Anyone? Planning on getting into town on the 13th. I doubt I'll be able to make it to the DSGP drift event, as the in-laws will be there over the weekend as well. Anyone know anywhere I should apply for work? I've been applying to a bunch of places online already, but any local businesses to hit up that wouldn't be online? I'd like to get into a shop that's geared towards custom stuff like hot-rods and/or custom fabs, but pipe dreams are what they are. I'd just like a place to learn some fabrication skills like welding and metal shaping and whatnot. Any and all input is appreciated.
