s13 o/d light flashing

ive got a 93 240 hatch and i went to go home from work today and noticed the overdrive light was flashing. its snowed lately but i dont drive it unless the roads are clear so i dont think thats got anything to do with it. any ideas on why and how to fix it?

my s14 does that sometimes, i press the od button and then press it again and it stops lol... idk im sure thats not a fix but works for me, i swapping it soon anywho...

i dotn think mines a button tho. it just flashes. it dosent really bother me. i was just wondering if any1 else had the same prob

nope - that means theres a transmission fault... looks like you might have a problem either beginning or already there... if you get it more - get it on a consult or somethin.

its a manual 5 speed. it makes the kicking up sand noise in about all the gears tho...

If it's a manual, why do you even have an O/D light?

The O/D light flashing signals a transmission fault, an AUTO transmission fault. There's a breakdown of the codes in the FSM. Which is pointless if you don't have an auto.

mine does same thing but only on startups.
stops blinking after a couple seconds

nah. ur probably using an auto ecu in ur car. its all good. iirc, it gives u no rev limit/speed limit
if ur worried about it, take out the light bulb

sweet deal. its the last thing i need lol. i went from a Z with a hole about the size of my arm to this. id hate to have to spend an obnoxious amount just to get it working... lol thanks guys

Why? You obviously no longer have an auto in the car. That's like asking if you should worry about a low washer fluid light when you don't even have the washer bottle anymore.
