Bogging, Running on 3 cylinders :(

Okay so, I've researched for days on my problem.

I recently had a shop put a new engine in. Two days later, it's raining, and I run a couple errands. I turn my car on (Still raining) and all of a sudden it's bogging and misfiring and gas started pouring out my exhaust.

So I take it to a shop and they pull my spark plug wires one at a time. The engine doesn't respond to #2 and #4 so they tell me I need two injectors.

So the Spark plugs are changed from bosch to NGK and the two injectors are replaced with brand new parts.

And now only #1 is unresponsive to spark plug wire pull and using a noid light all injectors have power but only #1 has no pulse.

I've switched the spark plug wires from #2 to #1 and nothing changed so I don't think it's the spark plug wires.

Any ideas?

Pull the fuel rail with the injectors still connected. Turn the key on and see if they all spray (use common sense when doing this, kthx)

Get a spark tester at autozone or whatever, crank the car and see if you're getting spark.

Alright I'm seriously at a complete loss as to what is wrong here. I'm hoping you guys can provide your wisdom!

Here's an update on what's happening and what I've done:

All the injectors have been replaced, as well as spark plugs and plug wires, and a compression test has been done and all cylinders have compression.

The misfire was jumping around initially, and would move after every part of the tune-up.

It has landed on #2 after I swapped the ECU (Which says "EQ" on it, the new one says "26".) I swapped injectors around and it's still #2 that's not firing when I pull the spark plug wire out.

Also, I checked all the wiring with a noid light at the injectors and they all have power and pulse.

I'm going to pull the whole rail tomorrow like the above poster suggested, as well as check for spark. but I pulled the plug on the #2 injector and it drives around fine on the 3 cylinders. lol

Any ideas at all from anyone? as to why only the one cylinder would not be firing after all this work? Any input would be greatly appreciated. I just had a new KA put in and I've dumped grands at this point.

Thanks a lot in advance!

What am I checking for when doing this? All cylinders have spark by the way.

If I'm getting spark, could the distributor still be causing the misfire?

Oh and would the ECU cause just one cylinder to misfire?

When the ECU with the "EQ" sticker is plugged in, #1 and #2 don't fire.

When the "26" one is plugged in, only #2 misses?

When I had my new engine installed, they installed a new distibutor cap,
spark plug wires, and intake gasket also.

My car was misfiring and such just like yours, started during rain. Thought it was injectors, fuel system, etc. Took off the dist. cap, and found a small amount of water in there. Dried it out, cleaned the contacts, put it back together, and no more issues. Dunno how it got in there, but it was raining quite hard. Hope it is that easy for you too!
