12mm lift cams too aggressive for stock valve terrain?
I'm curious on if 260 tomei pon cams with at 12mm lift is too aggressive for stock valve springs?
If so, would this be the best option for springs? http://www.mazworx.com/store/ShopCart.aspx |

i called mazworx today, and they said it would be fine to run stock springs, as long as i'm on hydraulic lifters.
Just trying to get second opinions. I wish i could score a deal on some JWT's |

I like 10.5 to 11.2~5 for stock valve train. That would mostly be used with 256 to 264 duration cams.

These days you have to attach a number when you say "stock springs"
i.e. "brand new stock springs" or "stock springs with 150,000 miles" If you have worn out stock springs with high mileage, then at least change them for some new unit. As you dig deeper into a head, you "might as well do things while you are in there" like change the guides, do a valve job, etc.. so a recommendation to change springs must be coupled with an existing engine state (mileage is a factor) |

At this rate I'm either going to upgrade my springs to super tech double springs or jwt s3 cams.
The mileage on my stock springs are unknown. I had BC springs on the head but I'm gonna get rid of those, I think they are too stiff, I threw a rocker arm so I wanna prevent that from happening, so maybe a less aggressive cam, or good quality springs. |
