Exhaust manifold and waste gate flange fitment issues
I bought a Full-Race pro street gen 1 exhaust manifold a long time ago. The sale also included an old Tial V44 wastegate. I decided to run a new wastegate, so I purchased this one: https://www.realstreetperformance.co...o085-1500.html
thinking that it would clamp right up. Went down to the shop after it arrived, and the wastegate flange is way bigger than the exhaust flange. The manifold flange is approximately 2.5" and the wastegate flange is approximately 2". So, what are my options? Also, here's a follow-up question. When wastegates are sold, they always list the valve size, but I have not seen any specify the flange size. Why is that? Any help is appreciated. |

from what i can tell they don't indicate the size as they come with their own flange and are unique to the brand...if you buy another tial wastegate i bet that would fit perfectly...

.........Why would you expect two different wastegates, from two different manufacturers in two different diameters, to fit on the same flange @ speedgod^s13 ??
The first line of the description literally says...... Quote:
Anyways, buy the correct wastegate for the flange. MVR is the updated 44mm tiAl wastegate. Return this and buy the correct wastegate (or whatever wastegate mates up to the flange). It is not simply a cases of 44mm gate fits all. Flange design needs to be considered. |

[QUOTE=RalliartRsX;6339262].........Why would you expect two different wastegates, from two different manufacturers in two different diameters, to fit on the same flange @ speedgod^s13 ??
The first line of the description literally says...... TiAl and Precision flanges are entirely different.....All Tial 44mm flanges fit on 44mm TiAL gates. All Tial 38mm flanges fit on 38mm Tial gates (v band for vand atleast). Anyways, buy the correct wastegate for the flange. MVR is the updated 44mm tiAl wastegate. Return this and buy the correct wastegate (or whatever wastegate mates up to the flange). It is not simply a cases of 44mm gate fits all. Flange design needs to be considered.[/Q] Thanks for that. I'm going to try and exchange my Precision 40mm for the 46mm, which will fit the Tial 44mm flange. Or, exchange it for a Tial. |

unless Precision is willing to send you a diagram with dimensions of their flange, and you can verify like-for-like, i'd just go with the Tial

.......just buy the correct part.
Sheeessh... Why are you so hell bent on fitting a precision gate to a Tial flange when you can just buy the correct part?? Are you banging the wife of some dude with the middle name precision? Whatever .....your money and time. However which way you choose to waste both is your prerogative |
