1uz S14 swap!
Never done a build thread! So work with me please!
Long story short, I have a 95 240sx kouki converted front end. Car had a built Sr20det with a Garrett 2876 turbo, I'll link the full build list later in this thread. Opportunities have since developed and I now found myself pulling the Sr20 in favor of my old 1uz swap from a previous car! So I suppose we will pick this there. Car when I originally purchased her earlier this year. Fully built Sr20det Half tube front Roll cage box welded 350z diff and axles Battle version suspension Tein coilovers Good purpose built platform to start with Car arrived at my house with a few small issues. Car would hardly idle Wouldn't build boost Needed a tune badly , had a power commander installed but apparently the previous owner played Tetris with it. Long list of just small neglect over a couple years have finally caught up with her, but she ran and had solid compression so i figured why not, we will give it a go. Got on Enjuku and several new parts later! We have everything switched over from the power commander to an rs Enthalpy ecu! Thank you Martin your the man. Car is back on a maf no longer a map New wiring specialties harness New wideband New injectors New tune Fixed a ton of wiring! Finally got her back running again. Sadly after getting her fired up, she had a bad fuel dump Wideband reading 10-10.6 at idle and breaking up bad until 4000, or if you revved it a little and clear out the fuel she ran great until the fuel caught back up. Started digging into her , coolant temp, tps voltage , maf voltage all good. Decided to look into the timing to see if she was in time. Got her at tdc valve cover off turns out the cams were slightly off , (thank you for adjustable cam gears ), and the cas timing was way off. Got all that sorted and she was good as new, no more misfires no more skips or breakup! , which brings us to the current day An old friend hit me up asking me if I would be interested in the 1uz swap out of my old car , he was wanting to go a different route. After a few days of debate we settled on my built sr swap for his 1uz swap + kickers. Motors coming out! She's out! I will be picking up the swap This Saturday and be smashing the swap out over the next couple weeks! I'll be documenting the whole process and anything someone may need to do the swap! If anyone has any questions please fire away, I've done this swap twice before , but this will be the first time I will be doing the wiring myself so! Diagrams and documents to follow!!
