What exactly is a mines ecu I've heard them talked about and I have a chance to buy one for my z. Are they specifically tuned for different mods? Or are they just a tuned ecu for factory settings the seller really doesn't give a description if it's tunes for anything specific. Does anyone have any ideas? Basically are these tuned for specific mods like bigger injectors or just factory parts?

Most are ROM tunes for a slight boost up, Intake/Exhaust and plugs. They do have custom tunes also, for people in Japan.

So they are just for basic upgrades and I have an intake plugs and exhaust. And sorry this maybe a stupid question but I'm new to anything that has a computer or has to do smog so what is a ROM tune and in your opinion is it worth 250?
