Passenger Headlight Problem
hey guys, sorry to bother you with this, i'm pretty sure it has been brought up before but i tried to search for it but no post with the exact problem as mine came up.
so my problem is that the passenger headlight doesn't work at all while my driver side low beam work but high beam doesn't work. i bought new headlights and switch the connecting cable from passenger to driver so i know that its not the cable. i also tested voltage before putting it in and it seems to have voltage but when i connect the headlight, the voltage seem to disappear, so my mechanic and i were both stumped. if anyone had the same issue and were able to fix it, please post it. any advice would be grateful. Thanks a bunch. I have a 1990 240sx with redtop professionally put in. the problem just started happening recently. before the light would shut off but if i switch to high beam and back, it would work. now the passenger headlight completely shut off. I also checked fuses, relay, etc... |

Could be many things: ground, fuse, retractor relays, headlight timer.
I suggest pulling up the headlight wiring schematic in the FSM and spend 2 hours studying the wiring. Then check the easy stuff first like relays and fuses and grounds. Then check continuity on the combo switch. Then check every single wire. It's not hard but it's intensive to figure out the popup wiring schematic. |
