people complain about the weight. but back when 240's were made they had quite a few less safety features. now with all the traction control, side airbags and things like that cars are going to be heavier. there is no way to get around it.

Safety delete. You'd save so much weight.
plus not everyone drives like a certain young Florida resident.

No kidding. 240's were nothing more then a secretaries car until recently. Besides, don't buy a car because of what others will think about you. That's gay.

safety equipment comes standard, but you can sign a waiver and pay a little extra to get your car without it. makes sense to me.

it might make sense to you because your an enthusiast.but people sue over anything now a days. a company not putting safety equipment on their cars is like asking someone to sue you. also just think you are driving your girlfiriend somewhere and your car gets hit and your girlfriend is seriously injured. she decides to sue nissan because she never signed a form releasing her.

the waiver could easily be worded to cover the company's ass, and make it your problem. and, of course, you'd have significantly higher insurance if your car came without airbags. the tradeoff would be huge, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be an option. airbags don't save lives. sturdy frames and seatbelts are where it's at.

My S13 doesn't have airbags. I'm gonna sue.

Let's not turn this into another discussion on if Stability control should be standard on every car.

Ok so what if you sell the car? The person who buys it didnt sign the waiver. and it will be a problem to keep up with who signed a waiver and who diddnt a giant extra problem that slows down production they have to put 2 different kinds of wheels and dash boards in the car. Not cost effective at all. Plus Im pretty sure DOT requires airbags in all cars 1995 and newer. I think the only way a company would do that if they made special track versions of the car for offrad use only

That would make reselling it a difficult task and people would still sue regardless.

Update:

The concept car is about to be debuted in a couple hours. It's quite a bit different then the silver one. Front lip like whoa...
