Ok so i searched the topics on this board and read the topic in FAQ at 240sx.org on cutting the yellow wire with a green stripe at the ECU to kill the speed limiter. So i get in there and cut the yellow wire with the green stripe. Take it for a spin, I try out all the electrical stuff it all works ....... BUT MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON!! I though o shit but the engine was running fine and nothing noticeable so i continued on. Got on the interstate AND TOPPED OUT AT 118!!!!!!! GGGRRRRRRRR >:-( So i got back and started clamping that wire back together and then I NOTICED THERE WAS ANOTHER YELLOW WIRE WITH A GREEN STRIPE!!!!!! The one i cut has one single silver dot every inch and the other one has 2 silver dots every inch. Neway, so i repaired the 1st one i cut and then tried the 2nd one ...... IT WORKED!! But my check engine light is still on!!! WHAT THE #### HAVE I DONE!!!! HELP??!!! does neone have a wiring diagram that can tell me what i cut and if i did ne damage or not?<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'> THANKS IN ADVANCE.

You should try resetting the ECU. I think it'll keep error messages is memory until reset or run for a while.
I'm not positive how, but I think just disconnecting the battery for some time will do it if you dont know a mechanic w/ the equipment to do it properly. greg |

No u don't have to reset ur computer. U see i cut the wrong wire the 1st time i did it. That made the check engine light come on and the peeps were telling me to reset my ECU by unplugging the battery for a couple of hours and it should probably turn the check engine light off ...... wellll i did that today and it didn't work so i don't know what to do know guess i take it to Nissan.

To reset the ecu you have to turn the screw on the back of the ECU to the testing position read the code and then put it back to the normal possition. Full details on this are on 240sx.org's FAQ. It some times takes a few tries. The disconnect the batery stuff is bunk and not necessary.
