s13 SR20Det expected power output

Sup forum im bulding my first sr20det after owning rb's and and ca's. why the sr and not rb's anymore cuz i just had the engine and next 6 inline id go for is the 2jay. anyways back on topic this is my build to date and i want to ask if any one have similar builds whats the power output could be (id like to aim for 500whp)

S15 Sr20Det
CP pistons 86.5 9.0:1 / eagle rods /acl bearings/arp studs
full race front face manifold/ Intake side is still stock with a 70mm TB
1000cc injectors paired with fuel cell and a BG king sumo pump

Shoping for turbos, looking into these:
gtx3071/td06 20g (dont know if the 25g is that laggy)

Cams are still stock but im looking into some 264's all BC

that's basically my setup may have left out some details but i think i pretty much covered the main. I will be running on a fueltech ecu. I will want to drive the car on open roads still so i wont be going over 20psi/21psi of boost (fuel of my country wont allow it). what do you guys think i will be pulling out of this considering the choice of turbos and cams. and also will my stock intake manifold restrain me for power gains/is it that important to get an aftermarket one with 90mm slammed to it.

can check the ride in progress here (totally new build from scratch progress 80%):

thanks forum

20psi / 500hp is not happening.

i am going to repost that video:

Click on it and you will see the setup. basically he is running a high end twinscroll exhaust mani with dual external wastegates, nearly 30psi of boost with a gtx2867r, e85, cams, headwork, and getting around 440WHP with a jasma exhaust, around 480 without the restrictor, mapped on nistune.
I'd say 20psi of boost and standard fuel might get you 400hp, maybe whp but not so sure.

90mm throttle body is useless, you will just be full throttle from 70 to 100% opening.

If you are going for 20psi of boost, use a smaller turbo.

Except op isnt trying to use a 400whp turbo to make 500 Like the guy you posted...

Op you will definitely want 272 duration cams but Im not sure if the GT3071r can make 500whp. Especially on pump gas.

TD06 20g 8cm will make 400hp easy and reliably on your setup depending on what fuel you use, and will not be extremely laggy. However it's not the latest and greatest as far as turbo technology goes. But it does give you a completely different driving experience because when it comes on, it hits hard.

I used to ask this exact question, ALOT, about various engines/combinations.

I found that this is a very handy equation, iirc:
cid X RPM / 3456 = CFM

CFM * pressure ratio * (converison to mass constant, 0.069 is used but can be changed)

So for an sr20

122x7200/3456 = X

X * 2 (15psi of boost is 2 atm total) * .069 = lb/min (which correlates horsepower at 100% Volumetric efficiency)

key:
sr20det = 122 cubic inches (adjust to see changes)
7200 is the maximum RPM (adjust this to see changes)
3456 is a constant

CFM is cubic feet per minute, CubicFeet/Min, a ratio of volume to time.

It works perfectly, in perfect situations, for engines that have perfect operation and friction free parts. Adjust it down some percentage for rwhp for example, such as 8-14%. And keep in mind that .069 conversion is affected by anything that plays with temperature, such as ice-water intercooling, methanol and ethanol and probably nitrous now that I am thinking about it.

The op wants more power than that, with crappy fuel and 10psi less.

It won't happen, even with the best matched turbo ever.

A PT5858 and a TD06 aren't similar at all.
