Idle issue

Just got a 93 s13 coupe with 96 ka24de in it. Has intake and exhaust as well as full suspension. Cars idle bounces around and ranges from 10k down to 8k and rarely down to 5k. Thinking either a vacuum issue or tps?

You don't know what the letter k stands for, do you?
10k, 8k, and 5k, are not values you want to hear when talking about idle. Pull codes, verify and adjust tps, vacuum leak check and reset base idle and timing are things I would do, off the top of my head.

K is thousands...but there is no way your idle is 5k = 5,000 rpm, 8k, or 10k.

Take it to a shop, see what they say. That or search on how to adjust your idle. I know it has been discussed before.

Nevermind, your username sums everything up. Good luck.
damn you got some studying to do

If his idle is literally 10k rpms, then its a vacuum leak from hell on a MAP car. lol Never ever heard of a non-map car try and rev higher than 8k without touching the gas.

Lol haters gonna hate. Sorry without looking at the cluster i thought it was counted by 10k rpms. Ex: 10k, 20k.... Cut me some slack. What im trying to say is idle is low so im assuming its a vacuum leak

Download an fsm it's a handy tool. Remove the kick panel on the front passengers side. Remove the ecu from it's mounting location, turn it so you can see the diagnostic screw, take note of its orientation, turn it fully clockwise 2secs then back.

Get yourself a timing gun, nothing fancy. It can be self powered, but you don't need one with a display or advance features.
Google, start page, or Bing pulling codes from 93 240ex for more info and how to read the codes. Post the codes here.

The diagnostic screw isn't a screw, its a potentiometer, so be gentle, and don't force beyond its range!
