Sr20det IAT sensor help

I have an s13 Sr20det in an s14 that I converted to e85. I am running it off a Haltech ps1000 plug and play with a wiring specialties harness. I bough a haltech IAT (intake air temp) sensor and cut the maf pin off to tap into the wires as following- black/white to A and orange/green to B. A is supposed to be ground and B goes to signal.

My problem is that my ecu doesn't get a reading from the sensor except one time for about 20 seconds. Can anyone confirm that I ran the wires correctly? I think I may just have a faulty sensor, but figured I'd confirm the wiring was correct before wasting money on a new sensor. Tfyt
