First time making these. I used a 120 volt hobby welder. They turned out alright. The only thing I didnt think through was the back of the tubs. I went a little too wide and now its taking away the space in my engine bay, not only that its not like the damn wheel is ever gonna hit that spot

Tubs!!!
So, who has done the backside of the strut towers? You see, the way my suspension is setup... It's gonna rub there. I think I've got it handled but I like seeing different ways.

I'm in the same boat. I've seen some bracing on the backside, but no actual "tubbing" |

I actually just hammered mine up. The factory metal will move up until it touches the clutch master cylinder.

I only did the upper part of the backside because I didn't want to pull out everything in the engine bay https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-D...2/CIMG0493.JPG https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-5...2/CIMG0528.JPG |

had someone at work do this for me, I haven't welded since I was like 11, so there was no way I could have done all that thin nissan steel.
I think he did alright, I need to put some body filler in all the nooks and cranny's to smooth it out. That'll will be in the distant future though. Got the tubs from tractor supply haha probably should have done them myself for more welding practice, but then they would've sucked. |
