s14 kouki squeaky suspension probs
i own a 97 240sx. well the problem is on the left hand side when i hit a bump my suspension does this annoying squeak. so i took it to a shop to get an alignment and also for them to check it out. (btw my car is lowered slightly on tein springs/kyb struts). so the shop told me that i need a camber kit, new rack and pinion, inner and outer tie rods, and strut rod bushings.
Ive being doing a lot of research and im sure i need the inner and outer tie rods and the camber kit since i lowered my car.(even tho i BARELY DID) and the squeak is probably caused by the bushings being bad. but a rack and pinion??? i have no steering problems at all. also would like opinions on what brand parts i should get. AND I DO NOT DRIFT!!! therefore i dont need top of the line stuff lol located in dfw, tx if anybody wants to drive it around and tell me whats up. pls correct me if im wrong about anything. thnx for the help bros.(and miss's? |

You need a new rack and pinion if its leaking fluid out of the tie rods. That means the seals are done. You dont need a camber kit, you can slot out the strut mounting point for the knuckle to give you a bit more positive camber. This is the cheap/free way of fixing your front camber. Next would be camber plates.

omg -___- if your not leeking too much power steering fluid you should be fine since this is a notorious 240sx problem! my friend had the same problem on his 14 with oem everything and i know it sounds ghetto but a mechanic just sprayd wd40 on the strut part that actualy moves and it got rid of the squeek right away! its not a fix but its a temporary thing! works on pulleys too! mechanic didnt want to make any money since hes a friend and it did the job hope it works out for you* "this is also a quick fix for squeeky belts" but not a permanent fix
